Something is up with work's computer system for logging in from home. It was fine first thing this morning, then it locked me out, then the ICT support desk sorted it for me, and now it's locking me out again. Not the best day for it to happen given that lots of staff can't get in, and we have lots of tests and mock exams to mark and need to get onto the system to enter our marks.

This is just a guess, but maybe the system has come up against some overall limit of number of users?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

It'd snowed, so I drove to work in the snow, but was as rough as a badger's 4rse, so immediately booked a half day's annual leave (no sick pay). It's good that I did as I left in daylight and spotted a puncture - so there goes my entire disposable income I'd expected from the end of month pay packet :(

Home now ..... got hot coffee.... heating's on.

Hope you are feeling better. Is it definitely a new tyre - could just be a £5 repair?

Wow- I feel cross on your behalf. I am so glad we have mains gas here.

oh, don't worry. In house legal dept sharpening his teeth. We have hoped for a non contentious outcome, but....there comes a point where you have shown reasonable time allowed and it's taken up enough of your life. We have a date for when that is for us, which certainly flls into reasonable. If it does get contentious their current action bodes in our favour....regretfully. It's not what any one wants.

Went out at 8am, took stuff to dry cleaners. Ready by 12. Now snowing heavily, not a chance I can collect.

On the homecare front, plumber been and gone :); electrician yet to appear.

    Electrician been and gone :)

    All done for today.

Plumbing problem turned out to be leaking shower tray. We have had this fixed before, but it turns out it was not done properly. Of course it is something not covered by the homecare cover. Acoording to today's guy there are firms who do nothing but apply sealant, known as mastic men in the trade. So I have phoned some random google mastic man who is coming next week, snow permitting. Plumber also arranged for a rods plumber to come out to attend a leaking outside pipe - that is covered by homecare but it isn't the sort of plumber that attends leaking shower wastes - who knew there were so many types of plumbers?

Well, I got to school and back OK, and I've got ICT support to unlock my account but I've also printed out everything I need to manage without the computer for my marking. I don't think I need any shopping for a few days, but there are shops I can walk to if I change my mind. Not intending to drive anywhere for a while now. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
