That might help those of you who understand these horrid machines understand what I need. It's also a fairly horrid drive tbh. I hate it.
(I love the look of the big Volvo four by fours, and there are some sub 10k second hand now, but I doubt they are man enopugh.. They are also HuGe. But the mpg is good I think.
Edit, some thing with decent towing ability would be more useful too I think, but that narrows the field.
Unless we also commit to buying a tractor within next couple of years and a horse box. (I hate towing trailers anyway.)
We need more monnnnnnneeeeeeeey.
I'd go Hilux TBH. They're genuine workhorses and they are pretty simple to modify if you need something like extra ground clearance.0 -

I have no car presently. Need to figure it out at the weekend.
Along with buying there is the lease option.
If your youngerand spending your income on other things then it can be the cheapest way to get a new car.
This site is supposed to be pretty up front and competitive the last I seen... http://www.lingscars.com/
One on hot deals... Peugeot 107
Often good prices on here... http://www.drivethedeal.com/
Other than that it's garage or private.
Hope your feeling better than last night0 -

Might be worth replacing the relay first.
Longer ago than I care to remember we had a proper Mini (it had feelings to) and the starter relay started to jam which just meant to start it you had to open the bonnet and tap the relay - fine until someone reversed in to it in a carpark and bent the bonnet just enough that it wouldn't open - after that you had to push start it so it was a matter of remembering to park suitably on a slope...a few weeks later I wrote it off when someone pulled out of a junction in front of me when I was doing 60 - luckily the brakes were pretty good so i had slowed a lot before hitting them - no airbags in those days.I think....0 -
Went to the doctors today, my eczema has flaired up again after being dormant for over 10 years...think the stress may be getting to me. Plus, I have now developed OA in the fingers of my left hand, real pain but suppose it had to happen eventually after having it diagnosed in my right hand and fingers over 20 years ago. This is making things just a tiny bit complicated as I now can't hold jars or cups in my left hand as my fingers have stiffened up so can't round them and have them bend back slightly easily and without pain and I can't trust to hold things in my right hand as my hand releases when I am not looking at it!
So to add to my medical cupboard, I now have more medication to deal with my fingers and emollient cream and bath gel for my Eczema !
God, I'm feeling blooming miserable.
Wassup Sue, not like you to sound so down. Get Lurver round to come and give you some TLC and / or call on your mates here and let us know what we can do to help, PM if you want, we are all ready to help in any way we can.I think....0 -

Ah I'm ok Michaels, just a bit stressed and tired.
Thanks though, it is nice to know there are people who I can turn to if I need them.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I just caught up with this thread, really need to keep on top of it. It moves so quickly, Michaels do you mind if you delete your post that quotes my post about what uni I will be at, would really appreciate it.
LIR mentioned newcastle, I only went to york recently and it really is true what they say, it's cold oop north...
I forgot to say, thank you for the congrats about my uni place.8k in 2015 Challenge ( #167)0 -

Tbh, our car has to work harder than most farmers cars because they have tractors and our car has to do some of what their tractors do. We were hoping to buy a second hand tractor with a front loader this year but don't think we will afford it with a car too.
The latest Disco is simply enormous. A real Chelsea tractor. I'm not sure that you are supposed to get them dirty. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
It's grim here today - grey/rain clouds.... and lots of rain. It's fab having patio doors though as it means I can see outside when I am inside... a simple thing that you can't usually do if you're sitting down, or unless you go and physcially stand at the window.0
