I've got a little garden, which then adjoins my LL's garden and a neighbour's round the corner. The neighbours have a raucous outside BarBQ party going on - with some gobby women and what sounds like a huge tub for them to lob empty bottles into..... noisy cant's.0

ah well...it's OH's turn to choose our NYE celbrations and he chose to 'nest' in front of telly in the dry and warm, have a drink and not worry about talking to anyone, being merry and driving.
He's very happy right now. Ginger is too (nestled on his lap)
Last year it was my turn to choose and I dragged him up to Waterloo bridge to watch fireworks again. This year he couldn't face the crowds, the 3 hour hike home (as they close the tube due to overcrowding) as we kind of head towards London Bridge to pick up a tube @ 2am.
So going to watch them from the house (we have a panoraimic view over London BUT it's through the trees) so it's not the same as actually being under them.
Starting to hear people arrive to our hill to watch them....mmm..last time that happened was the opening of The Shard and everyone was expecting a laser display......wasn't really anything at all and the large crowds that gathered were all a bit disapointed.0 -
...awww..how come new place has no connection?
Alan Carrs book is pretty good especially how it explains nicotine addiction.
Off to sign up for new/proper BB and address not on dropdowns - if you're not on there, you can't have it. Plugged in phone to socket, dialled magic number, found out the phone number - called lettings agency, they said last person was BT and I should go down BT route. Online to BT, signed up (with help from their online chat as address not on dropdown) .... only to get to the end of the process to be given a connection date of 28th.... then a week later an email to say midnight 7th/8th. Not convinced though. BT is limited bandwidth and expensive, but seemed to be the only way to achieve it.
Limping along with limited connectivity every now and again. Can't load most pages, can't even load gmail most days.... praying that there won't be a problem on 7th (e.g. they keep saying I have to be here for an engineer, but I will be at work so can't be here just like that).
Currently on inadequate O2 30-day PAYG, which is ripping through bandwidth like nobody's business just from the pages I try to load that never finish loading0 -
It's horrible when you have no connection. Up there with no water and electricity, these days.
Nice to se the fc123 being prolific!
eh? eh?:) Prolific in what?
pro·lif·ic

And now for jools hootenany. I like our traditions.0 -
Oh ... and because I have no connectivity, not been able to surf t'Internet to look for things, buy things, get things (best prices, look up maps, etc).... so the only belonging I have is an airbed that I am sleeping on.... well, I did go out one day and get lost and discovered a washing machine, that was delivered 2 weeks later, so I have a washing machine - and a work colleague's lent me a TV that I can't get a signal on ... and a small fridge
It's all a bit ... basic.0 -

Happy New Year, guys and gals. PN, after around 30 cigs a day I quit. Discovered the e-cigarette. Fun, nicer than stinky fags and you get to choose your flavours. So much safer yet you get the throat hit, the nicotine, which is not a cause of cancer, loads cheaper.
Nearly 50 years of heavy smoking and not had a cig for over 3 and a half years.
Let me know if you want to have a go at them.0 -

...not sure what he is watching ..I'll put my nose around the door in a min.
I am trying to work out what type of house I could invent to build on the plot that is sympathetic to the street but could get a meet up with K McCloud *swoon*....I think LIR said if you get on the show you get free stuff.:)
I only know it needs a Brighton style roof terrace to see the sea and Dreamland....but then there would be no room for solar panelsthe plot has planning for a 3 storey house + basement but I think the basement would have to be an underground parking space.
OH is watching a crud film called Idiocracy.
I will turf him off the sofa in 8 mins to watch fireworks from upstairs.0 -

Not been watching TV but were glad misskool is here
Mum told me today who was on jools and I wasn't sure if I'd bother.
She's 70 and will be watching.
Mum saw the late 50's, all of the 60's and the early 70's in her younger music years and I think she got the best of it.
Also being a music lover, I'm quite envious of that.0
