One activity that was popular in my gang, in my town, about 20 years ago was to drive down to the supermarket after closing and hunt for stray shopping trollies. Once found, the passenger holds onto it out of the passenger window, while the driver goes hell for leather from one end of the car park to the other - then, the driver brakes as the passenger lets go of the trolley and you see if it goes all the way through the fence, or what other damage it does.Am I right in thinking that all the other NPs are far, far too sensible to go trolley racing in the supermarket car park?0 -

I dropped macputer. It's usable but broken.
. It's got the volume sign stuck over everything in the middle of the screen.
. And the edge got bent. 0 -

Journey made, uneventful. Record time in fact. Breezed straight through.
Return was a different issue with some serious sudden showers here and there, got caught up in a complete road shutdown that needed circumventing .... and return took nearly 2x the time the outbound journey took.
PN's are survivors.... if I set out to do something, it's always OK .... I don't take risks. 90% of the time I have reasons why something shouldn't be done; if I've decided something should be done then all risks have been calculated/avoided and minimised
I did it without any maps or aids too ... just headed out and believed .....

I think that there are penalties for taking them into Dubai for example. AIUI you may need permission to take codeine into Singapore, but not sure what will happen if you don't break your journey and stay in the transit lounge - just make sure you don't take them off the plane with you I guess.
Hope the flight goes ok and that you manage to get as comfy as possible.
Didn't even think of that. I'm now sitting in Sinagapore airport with a controlled substance
However, it's only OTC codeine/ibuprofen and a quick google suggests this won't be a problem as the concentration of codeine is too low for them to bother with. Worst comes to worst I'll say it belongs to OH and leg it.
Flight wasn't too bad due to the fact that I have already taken most of the painkillers. 13 hour leg next though.0 -

I don't understand how they can do that. The car park is never that empty when I'm there, I normally have to drive around for 10 mins to find a space. Still, that's Cold'n Lonely for you. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Gosh, that's good.
On a nother thread where dave and I are we have seen between us enough hassle and not in that danger zone.
I am so very glad it was not only safe but easy. Happy new year!0 -

Sounds like the bent case may be causing the volume button to be pushed all the time - can you use something to 'prize' the key out?vivatifosi wrote: »I don't understand how they can do that. I dunno - Saturday evening after next and M&S have closed, I don't think it is that bad, if they spend their dosh on their cars it is more constructive than other hobbies. In fact I would love to pimp up my car, lowered, neons, huge speakers in the boot etc - mostly because it would be so incongruous I reckon it would be brilliant

That is such a funny picture michaels! Pimp it, paint it yellow and your car could look like Thunderbird 4!Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Ah now I used a bit of license with this one.
In Aus we have something called 'Council Clearup' where you dump all your crap on the grass verge biannually and the council comes and collects it.
When your [STRIKE]sh[/STRIKE] stuff is on the verge it is fair game for whoever wants it: I love to see my things get taken as it means they get enjoyed rather than trashed and I've taken loads of stuff from others including about 10 kids' bikes and trikes, kids picnic tables, kids outdoor play stuff, a fridge and some gardening tools.
I've had taken a microwave and 2 TVs (broken but the copper etc can be sold) taken along with some little bits too.
It's culturally more acceptable than skip filching in the UK I reckon. Skip felching is to be avoided IMHO.
This is something they do in parts of Germany and the Netherlands. The cleaners come round later and take the unclaimed stuff. Very sensible. Bit like freecycle but synchronised!:DThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
