Am I the only person to have never thought of taking anything out of a skip?
Maybe you just haven't seen good enough stuff in skips yet?
A friend of mine got a stone carving from an internal wall in the City from the builders (having seen it in the skip) for £150 quid a decade and a half ago. Was valued later in her home as several thousand pounds worth (cannot remember how much, but a big amount).
We know that we have put out hundreds, thousands maybe, of duplicate CDs sent for review in duplicate or just not taste in the past ( don't get many now! ).
I would feel happy to take quite a lot of our stuff to the tip if it would be sold either for charity or better still for local government coiffures instead of skipped.0 -

Surely not a pat on the back for a former banker and Conservative?0 -

However once I passed a house and there was a set of garden furniture in the front garden with a note on saying "free to a good home". I rang the bell to ask if I could take it, but nobody was home. My aunt lived in communal accommodation and I knew that she and her neighbours would appreciate a table and chairs to sit in their garden but the housing trust hadn't provided one. They were thrilled.
Afterwards, I went back and posted a note through the door saying what I'd done and where they had gone and that the new owners were really pleased and promised to look after them. Hopefully the previous owners will have got a buzz from knowing they'd gone to a good home. The last chair fell to bits last year - but they'd done six summers by then.
I put yes to that question as I couldn't be sure that I hadn't aided/ abetted my mother in liberating anything from a skip. I don't think I have, but can't be sure.0 -
Oh and I am 68% tight. Though many of the questions are not relevant.
(and I would not skip my round, far from it, and some things I consider sensible and Eco not just tight...like using everything in the packet, ) putting cheap stuff in expensive bottles is not tight it's a waste of time. I put some things in plain bottles , because I dislike branded crud, not because I am embarrassed or dishonest about it.0 -

Well, I think it's someone who's got on his bike, but not Norman Tebbit. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Oh - that's not who I was thinking of! I think the Financial Times bit influenced me.
I should think there will be a lot of sportspeople on the list this year. I'd rather that than 'tv personalities'.0 -

I sometimes put cheap stuff in expensive bottles because I buy big packs of things and the big bottles are too unwealdy, especially for small hands.
I also used to do it when I was in catering, many moons ago because my boss used to tell me to. He used to top up the spirits bottles with Spar own brand. He'd do it when the pub was open in front of everyone. He was a collossal alcoholic. He used to forget that he'd paid you some days and pay you twice which was nice.
He was quite a nice bloke until his life fell apart.0 -

I really hope Hannah Cockroft is awarded an MBE (or higher). She was amazing at the Paras and to see her joy at winning - it was so tangible, so total - she's not only a great athlete but comes across as a really nice person. I was sad that she wasn't on the shortlist for BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I have plain bottles for that sort of stuff. E.g. There is a daily milk jug in my fridge, When we are using more milk I put a bigger jug in that's still smaller than a huge bottle.
We don't buy big bottles of olive oil for example, but have been known to bulk buy by buying boxes of bottles....in the same way as decanting it means things that degrade I. Light can be kept in the dark till its 'their' turn0 -

At the risk of showing how foolish I am for a second time in quick succession (should google first really) I think she was on celeb mastermind earlier in the week.
I also thought Dave Weir came across as very deserving of his success. What an athlete!0
