I'd hesitate to take it up again as a dad with dependants. There does seem to be a high death rate for a sport. At least in a powered plane there's more controlover your fate.

Once my DD was born I started being ultra-careful even crossing the road. The thought of DW having to comfort DD at my funeral kept popping unbidden into my imagination too often. :(

I understand that. Believe me, this feeling gets even stronger when your kids have already experienced the death of the other parent.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I'll be around Friday morning hopefully - I've done my hip in again - a bit of a regular occurrence of late but at least I can just about walk this time. So make that things come in fours.

I hope the hip is better (or still bad if that suits you better;)). I have now arranged to be in town tomorrow afternoon (dentist) so I guess I won't be able to drop in in the morning :(

I feel I am losing my touch, only 58% tight and some of those hypothetically tight...still we did spend the afternoon at the Galleria (my idea of hell on earth) trying to take advantage of the Amex/foursquare nike and gap offers.
    I think....

I got exactly 58% tight too michaels. I don't think I'd like to know anyone who's 100% tight by those questions though michaels, some of the questions cross the line into skankyness.

Apparently I'm only 39% tight but some of those don't include the fact that I had to answer no to lots as they didn't apply.

We mostly just live off reduced food from Waitrose though ;)

57% tight. Some of those questions would really show a person up as pretty bad company.
I live on whoopsies as much as possible. But hiding from a round? not paying my share of a meal? Come on!

Precisely! Made me think we should never accept an invitation to go on a pub crawl followed by a kebab with Martin.

59% tight.....I could never underpay for my meal!

I and my wheelchair got stuck in a disability lift today whilst buying birthday cards....the machine took me down ok but then would not blooming open, so the assistant took it up again, it opened, brought it back down again, would not open, up again, open, down again, not opening.

So, the only option left was to take me back up to the higher level, wheel me off and then go out the back door of the shop (the shop is on sloping ground so the higher level back door was at street level behind the main high street)...one bonus was to give me my little pile of cards I was going to purchase for free as compensation for my 'distress'.....my distress consisted of going into fits of giggles at the sillyness of it all!

Never mind, I did offer that it was ok and I would still pay as it had been a great bit of fun but the manager insisted....saved me £8.50!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Hmmm... 63% tight. There must be at least one answer I gave which is more unsavoury than the average NP. Just for the record, I split bills fairly and ammo shirker when it comes to rounds. Honest :)
  • 17% tight....

    15% tight...

Sneak sweets into the cinema though I bought their stuff the last time I went.

Would take a first date on a 2 for 1 but don't think I ever have.

    Re-gift a present. I have done that.
