For Christmas, I have received a flying lesson at Shoreham airport

    Oh dear.....

I sincerely hope you hate it. ;)

Unfortunately I liked it altogether too much, went on to do a Ppl, followed by an instrument rating and multi engine commercial, and spent many years in abject, miserable, grinding poverty as a result. :o

The technical definition of an aeroplane is a hole in the sky into which you pour money......

About as non-MSE as you can get, but a ridiculously fun experience if you're into that sort of thing. :D

My dog's releasing copious quantities of carbon dibackside.I don't lnow what he's been fed but it must never happen again.
Maybe that's the magic of these staffies. They may look ugly enough to make people going blind to feel it's not so bad. But maybe they don't smell like a skunk caught plague and died of septic suppuration.

NPs with dogs, is there a breed that just always smells sweet or you can feed charcoal biscuits to? Or a way of coverting a terrier to such a breed by gene technology? :D

I hope you love it. I never flew a powered plane but have flown a glider (or, more accurately taken lessons in them). Studied at the only uni to have its own airfield and made the most of it. Took photos when I did- don't suppose that's possible in a pwered plane flying lesson. But take a camera anyway.

My favourite of dh's relatives died in a glider crash. :(

Zag....the worst smells belong to greyhounds. IMO, it's the one serious reaon to consider not having one.

If yours is fsrting a lot regularly and gouly it might be worth considering a diet change. Or some very good sorting the house routines. As well as being less happy with the smells myself I am always aware people visiting probably think we have made them!

I started taking lessons, and I have 5 hours under my belt. One of the reasons I gave up was the instructor told me to turn left, which would have taken us straight into the path of a helicopter coming towards us. I thought that if his eyesight is that bad, and he's an instructor, what about the other blind buggahs flying around out there?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

DW: "Body of zulu warriors - 4 letters - blank m blank i"
    Me; "Impi"
    DW: "You made that up!"
DW, watching me type this: "I'm going to get rid of the internet connection in a minute."

She's in hard to please mode.

:) I didn't realise it was such a normal thing to get a flying lesson :rotfl:

I don't know if I'll like it but I am allowed to take a camera. If not, mr kool will be at the back seat while I'm flying.

Hopefully I won't like it too much as I'm not sure we could take me having another hobby in this household!

    You'll love it!

I learned to fly in the US in 1980, it was a lot cheaper there. What was even better, my Company paid for it.

If you want to liven the lesson up, ask them to perform spin recovery ;)
