I hope everybody's further along with their Xmas shopping than me. I'll be one of those frantic desperate men dashing from shop to shop with a demented look on their face. :D

We have some pretzels left over from the party, so won't starve.

    Ok, great!

Or, you know, just come when I can prep something that I can make for you with love and keep kosher. :)

I bought dh's tiny gifts already, and some of his to me. On Saturday we bought my dad's gift to my mother, kowing she had bought him some mind game books. We are giving my mother some CDs and odds and ends and my father some kitchen towel (long story) and some similar odds and ends.

Dh did not get the gifts posted to the new baby, so later to day he is going to Skype and chat and explain (or dig himself out of that hole).

The dogs and cats will each get a slice of goose tomorrow and a bone on boxing day. (they love the Christmas supper which has 'rich pickings and as soon as we say there is rich pickings they get waggy and a bit pushy)

It's not a gift laden christmas here at all.

Our Tesco opened at midnight, so I did a last minute shop there. Looked like a supermarket that had been vandalised, cages everywhere, cardboard all over the floor, empty shelves. The customers weren't much better either - spotted a lot of PJs/ onesies tucked into Ugg boots!

I'm just checking out closing times this afternoon in preparation for a whoopsies trip...if too much is sold out then it could be a very interesting meal tomorrow and Boxing day.....:)
    I think....

I am ham cooking today. :).

Every year I think we will do a michaels and go to look for chrsitmas eve whoopsies and every year we fail. Usually too busy or exhausted, today I think we have just decided its worth the shopping bill to take today at our pace. It's shameful.

Tbh, I have more confidence in the nice person collective fix than any thing else at this point:D

My advice would be to leave well alone. It's Xmas eve, you have heating and luke warm water and a kettle. Better not to meddle than to risk losing your heating for the next few days.

Don't come anywhere near the Tesco near me, big gaps on the shelves last night, I can't see the whoopsies filling up. Unless you want trifles that people have stamped on and battered crisp packets.

I always suspect the staff set aside the first pick of the whoopsies.

Along with my shopping last night I seem to have picked up a sore throat and sniffles. :(

    :D

This worries me because you are pretty much always right.

And we have just meddled. :D (with the plumber on the end of the phone)

And I have taken your earlier advise and posted in the heating bit.

There is a dog for everyone, and while as humans we are very moved by the aesthetics I often think people shoul dbe made to chose their breed 'blindfolded' by a description of the type and what it's breed characteristics and needs like exercise and grooming then requirements such as non moulting if necessary and size.

I knew very little about choosing dogs when we picked Avatar-dog, but he turned out to be ideal for me. (I did pick him for not needing much grooming and a desire to chase and retrieve things, though.) So when my lifestyle gets to a point where I could cope with a dog again, would I be wise to go for another lab/greyhound cross? Or would that be narrowing my options too much? And would a lurcher/greyhound centre be the best place to look for a lab/greyhound cross if that was what I decided I wanted?
Viva, hope you share a picture of the lucky dog when found:)

Oooh yes please. We like pics of dogs. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I have one of those desktop weather gadgets on my computer displaying the forecast for the next 3 days. It was so depressing that I changed it so it displays the weather forecast for Barbados, instead of London. Curiously, that is just as depressing - thunderstorms for the next 3 days. :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
