Hmmm... Work Christmas do tonight. Here's hoping I don't make a drunken fool of myself ( bit of a speciality)
You can let us know when you get in.
Just watch not spill "chicken fried rice" all over your keyboard
I see someone else was having their Christmas party today too...
I enjoyed that0 -
Dear NP
I am OK. Yesterday was a bit of a blur and carp for another reason. In part because I stupidly took my regular medication along with the injectable. I should have reduced it a lot, I also think I gave myself too high a dosage of the jab (twice as much). A combination of force of habit and terror I think.
Today I have worked and am very tired. Feel nauseous and full up. This is all minor stuff and I am reminded of the bravery of Daisy and her parents.
Earlier in the week I said we were couriering gifts to friends who were not coming home at Christmas due to illness. My DH telephoned me yesterday in floods of tears as our friend (male) had telephoned him in great distress as they had just learned that his wife's situation is terminal. They are flying back to the UK tonight. They are our closest friends, she was our childminder , DD loves her and she loves DD. When it was DD's 18th she flew over (from Singapore) as a surprise for DD's party even though she had to go back the next day.
This is hideous for them and they are in shock. They will see their sons tomorrow and come to us on Sunday. They have no UK home and we have said our home is theirs. I feel so useless.0 -
Dearest spirit,.
Opening your home to friends is the very opposite of useless. What wonderful friends you must be for them to know you are so readily prepared to open your home to them.0 -
I'm sitting here with a griddled hand....again.
In the absence of burn cream or dressings, I have a drenched sock wrapped around my hand...ever resourceful here!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Possibly. There are big metal hooks that just jam into the pleats. A clue would be to see from the length of the curtain, if the curtain hung below the pole or attached to the front of it. You may need to blame your DW for not putting the hooks in a safe place when she took the curtains down.

Thanks, Silver. There are some nail-sized holes in the pleats, so I expect it's that sort. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I can find some locally. JL, here I come.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I came across some rum in a pistol shaped bottle, but it's quite small. Only 20cl. Even that costs £20, but maybe it would work as a consolation prize?

Thank you. That's even better, because I love rum!0 -
Spirit, please look after yourself and that's really sad about your friends. I'm glad they are coming back and I hope the time you all have together can be as nice as possible for her and everyone.0
