We got Google Maps back as an app today. I imagine it's a worldwide launch.

    Yeah, I've just installed it.

Did you get the job you were going for Gen?

My DW took some curtains down a while ago, and she has charged me with buying curtain hooks. The only trouble seems to be that there does not seem to be anywhere to put the hooks. Normally, there is some sort of tape with loops in, but not on these curtains. They have some very deep pencil pleats at the top that have been gathered. Is there some sort of hook that you just jam through/into the material?

I'm really hoping the NPs can help with this. :)

Did it stop? Because here it's still bucketing down.

Has the tape not been sewn in?

Are they old, are there tiny eyes as in hooks and eyes?

    Indeed, Spirit, are you okay?

    As to vodka bottles, http://vodka-store.com/en/vodka/293-kalashnikov-vodka-ak-47-bottle-.html

I'm not sure that you'll like the price, though. It may be better just to come clean. Glass breaks. It's part of life. Move on.

Cheaper than flying over to buy one.

Coming clean is not the issue, but making reparation as best as can be done is still important.

I certainly did and it's funny you should ask....

I took a day off current (temping) job yesterday. In the morning I went to the Generalissimos' school end of year prize giving and saw my youngest of 2 given the award for best across all subjects in her class (very proud Dad).

In the afternoon I went to an 'offsite' with my new company. I gave a short, unprepared presentation which was answered with a muttered comment from a future colleague, "That's the great thing about [Gen's future boss], she always picks the great staff". Lots of other very nice things were said too.

We ended up in a cookery school for beers/wines and some self-made dinner which was a great way to get to know my future workmates. The recipes they used were brilliant; they were pretty much foolproof yet delicious. We even made chocolate fondants which all came out perfectly melting in the middle which is going some.

I also checked out my new desk. Directly opposite the TV for ideal Test Match viewing. Oh and my ultimate boss is a Pommie cricket fan and a Spurs fan too. The office is 13th floor and right by the harbour so the view is fantastic. The woman sitting opposite me is beautiful and fantastic at her job as EA too.

    And I get a 50% pay rise.

Oh and a subsidised mortgage and 25% off insurance.

28C and beautiful sunshine today in Sydney. It was quite humid though by the end of the day if I'm being picky.

Omg, how long was I out? Nine minutes? Soaked to the skin through my horse coat. Kiwi and big dog are dripping and dog dog is shivering.

Dog dog and I are going to the vets later, hope it's eased off then.

No tiny eyes, and they used to be hung, but DW cannot remember what hooks were used. Gah!!!

Were you keeping this bottle for someone else, then? I thought they had given it to you.
