Spirit, please look after yourself. If not for your own sake then for the sake of the people who care about you (including us humble pixels, but most importantly your family).
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

What units are you measuring that in, Spirit?

To all the audiophiles on here...

A decent set of PC speakers makes all the difference.

This set seem to be getting approved on price and quality...

    Might help someone

Edit: Looks like they have sold out for now.

Good deal, but not approved by Mrs. Wheezy
We could buy something much more useful with that money.

Your Dr should have given you an upper & lower limit. 2 measures which, in an ideal situation, you will stay between. Whilst between those measures, all faculties etc will operate normally.

As you get used to it, you'll be less self concious, but personally you'll know (for example) it has been a while since breakfast, & with a 1 hour drive coming up, you need to top up. You'll self police.

I hope I'm not teaching you to suck eggs, but routine is essential. You have to stick to regular mealtimes etc, as that is the main way to keep your levels, well, level. Therefore, at 8.00, 12.30 & 17.00 every day (for example), your world stops for eating!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

I have something to consider and NP thoughts are welcome.

I have been asked to be the SRO for a large project . It concerns several organisations, TUPE of many hundreds of staff, redundancies, relocations, change management a budget of several £M. It is politically sensitive and is as attractive as a rat sandwich.

I was gracefully finding away to decline however on Friday at a Board meeting someone outed me as the 'candidate' (I have not applied) as our CEO and he had discussed it. The Board said "excellent".

Have discussed my reservations today with the Director I report to who has said go with your gut feeling. The project team have already contacted me to say they are thrilled. If I do this I will have either:

    a) interesting different kind of influential role over the next 12 -24 months or
    b) a dogs life (and I am not thinking Wheezy westie, a LIR dog or my own flattie)

I have had some chunky projects in the past, but I am not sure I have the energy for this at this time. I would still keep my existing team but add an new implementation team for this project. Locality wise I could travel around the organisations easily.

NP hear about my life all of the time so I value your opinions.

The thing here is to trust your gut instinct, and this was part of the argument I've had with our Fleet manager with regard to my intervention with Renault the other day.

She'd threatened to walk, as I'd said bluntly a few minutes before that they were not to have the order from us. I'd been accused, in full earshot of our accountant, one of our solicitors and our fleet manager of attempting to steal one of their demo cars, and that something wasn't right with the setup of the company.

We're in the middle of moving offices at the moment, so that would explain some of the concern, however I don't personally feel that chucking '06' and '56' plate vehicles off the fleet (their concern was that we are keeping the vehicles longer than most of their customers) warrants that form of rudeness. We're also a cash customer, and they gathered that as I wasn't smartly dressed (it was my day off, and as most NP are aware, I haven't been well this year), and CK's 'I've had enough' sensor was buzzing rather wildly!

Moving on, we've placed the order with VW for 16 Polo's, 6 Golfs, 71 Passat's, 37 Tourans, 58 Sharans, 12 6 seat Transporters and a Toureag Hybrid (the other partner wants one), which although they worked out more expensive than the Ford equivalents at the start, they seem to be so much better build quality-wise, and also hold onto their value better. This is going to be over the next 3 years, as I couldn't afford to do them all now, even if I wanted to! Audi want our management order, but we're under a 24 month contract with Jaguar which only started in September, so that's going to be an outright 'not for the moment' Our newer ('60' onwards) Mondeos and Galaxies are going over to the taxi fleet, and the S-Maxes are going through auction, as they're too uneconomical for 4, and not really big enough for 6 passengers.

Next job is telecommunications, for which we're looking at a mix of BT and O2, as they're coming in cheapest at the moment.

    CK's had enough this week!

DS1 had 2 wisdom teeth removed last night. Surgery at 7pm and sent home at 10pm. Seems to be doing OK.

Presumably from the same side. Hope he's feeling well. Codeine's worth thinking about, but not for more than a few days.:)
