There are some very knowledgeable peeps on the DIY board, some of them are registered heating engineers. Given that you have already uploaded photos it may be worth posting on there and getting 2nd/3rd & 4th opinions.

It's an unusual system and I am not yet convince this won't end up as a dispute so I don't really want to invite professional opinion at this stage. However, we have decided today to have an independant third party come and evaluate the system and set up.

We learnt last week that good friends who live in the middle east will not be coming over for Christmas due to illness.

DD is just organising Fed Exing their pressie to them as we are too late for posting.

    Value of package:£40

    Quote for delivery: £88 (arrive 16th) £63 (arrive 18th).

So that will be arriving on the 18th then.

That sounds hypocritical. Silvercars suggestion is a good idea.

Knowledge is a good thing in these situations.

Did you try DHL? They seem to be the ones to use for a lot of places abroad.

    .

Reading it, I wasn't clear. I mean on a forum. I have no problem the installers taking advice or us having someone else in, I just don't want to discuss the ins and outs of all the issues on a public forum at this stage.

But yes, silver cars suggestion is good( she is generally...excellent at at advice). it's potentially pretty contentious situation with the heating people (who are putting.its of hours onto tryin to get it right to their credit). I don't want to discredit the company (who might be identifyable to other professionals once we start talking about what kits are here and where we are) and nor do I want to weaken our own situation should it turn more contentious. Though we remain hopeful it will not and committed to doing what we can to not head down in that direction.

This, seems worth Having more knowledge but at this stage not on a forum. ( and this indeed was discussed today, having someone else in to look).

I could sign in as a new user and discuss it with out indicators like geography etc, but....I don't want to at this stage.

As long as you haven't paid them most of the price then they should be keen to sort it out.

She is still doing battle with the Fed Ex website as it asks tortuous details about the gift that no one in their right mind could answer. It does not help that we have already gift wrapped and brown paper parcelled the bliddy thing:o.

Hang on she has said she is now looking at DHL as she is so sick of Fed Ex site. DHL is £77.

And don't forget that packages get X-rayed and potentially will be opened if not declared properly. Mine are always just lobbed in and hope for the best.
