Sorry peeps, I hadn't realised. Happy Chanukah to all the Jewish NPs and their families. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I have no idea what the film is, but you two are incredibly sweet. I am so happy for you.
Mind you, you should see DW and me, going for walks together hand in hand, just like the children on the Start-Rite adverts.
That onesie makes you look so trendy.
OH and I went for what started as a healthy walk this afternoon, it ended - soon after it started- in the local costa in a very unhealthy way.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Also, I am meant to meet my cousin from Australia in London today but she has given me a mobile which I think is too short. Can someone confirm that mobiles in australia are +61 4xx xxx xx? or should there be one more digit?
There should be 1 more digit. Mobile phone numbers here are 10 digits long and you drop the leading zero when calling internationally.0 -
Ooopss, I had forgotten too!
Happy Chanukah everyone
xxWe made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
How was the flight chewy? OH trying to persuade me to do Oz next year and the length of the flight is off putting.
The flight isn't so bad even in economy. If you go via Singapore there's a swimming pool at the airport so you can have a swim and a shower which makes the second leg nicer. A day or two in a hotel is even better (the shopping is great in Sing).
If you get an evening flight out of London the trick is to stay awake as long as you can during the first leg and sleep during the second. That way you wake up in the morning Aus time which minimizes the jet lag.
The flight isn't much fun but it really isn't that bad. The last time I did it with just me and the kids and even that was ok. The Aussie summer beats a Pommie winter hands down!0 -
OH always allows himself 3 hours in Singapore/ HK/ Abu Dhabi (this time) to shower etc before second leg, even when there is a quicker stop available.
We were hoping to get a companion voucher (free ticket when you use avios miles for the other) through Amex card. That is a bit complicated if his firm should be paying for his flight, so don't know how we will sort it, but would like to travel Business class because I can't sleep unless I'm in a bed.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. So, the knowledge of that means one is posh? It's so easy to be posh! :j:j:j
No, I think it doesn't follow the other way. All electricians know that the earth wire in a plug is green & yellow, but knowing that doesn't make you an electrician.
Sorry - pedant mode. It's maybe because the other day I was stuck in an event at a bookshop, unable to move for the crowd for ages, right next to a display of posters with literary quotes. Straight in front of me was one from Alice in Wonderland that included this:`Then you should say what you mean,' the March Hare went on.
`I do,' Alice hastily replied; `at least--at least I mean what I say--that's the same thing, you know.'
`Not the same thing a bit!' said the Hatter. `You might just as well say that "I see what I eat" is the same thing as "I eat what I see"!'
`You might just as well say,' added the March Hare, `that "I like what I get" is the same thing as "I get what I like"!' `You might just as well say,' added the Dormouse, who seemed to be talking in his sleep, `that "I breathe when I sleep" is the same thing as "I sleep when I breathe"!'lostinrates wrote: »Gdb, I think you should watch Elf. It is funny ( the first time) if schmaltzy, and it will add a sprinkle of here to a dark day. Find out when it's on again.
Dh wants an outfit like the lead actors, which in itself might ake you grin.
I am counting to the shortest day and when we get there I am going to be happy for you we are starting to have light again.:)
I think you and dw sound sweet too.
DD is with fir on this one. She absolutely loves Elf!I have no idea what the film is, but you two are incredibly sweet. I am so happy for you.

Enjoy! A good marriage is a wonderful thing. I am so happy for you and Mrs GDB. My aunt and uncle used to be great ones for holding hands. They had 63 happy years together. (Well, actually I think she says the first two were pretty hellish, but the other 61 were great.) But then, he was the sort of man everybody couldn't help liking. You should have seen how packed out his funeral was, just with their friends and her family, since he had no family in this country.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Silver, I'm guessing that your DH's exec club level is quite high, so why not call the airline and ask them for advice? They should know the best way to book it - it's their job! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? My Aussie mate who re-migrated with his family to Oz this year raves about Singapore airport and says it has great facilities for kids. While it might be Disneyland with the death penalty, I keep getting surprised by the odd things they seem to get right there.
I reflected on my propsal about ten songs to recommend others listen to to broaden their musical horizons.
Dawned on me that I struggle to know what genres some of my music belongs to.
I mean what the heck is this- glam rock (PN would like this if she tunes in)

Maybe we should recommend artists for others to try out.

I don't know what you'd call this but he's great.
Don't want to overdose anybody but probably already have.
Eagerly await others recommendations as and when they see fit.:)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
