Also, I am meant to meet my cousin from Australia in London today but she has given me a mobile which I think is too short. Can someone confirm that mobiles in australia are +61 4xx xxx xx? or should there be one more digit?

Facebook might sort it out. If she doesn't respond you could just spam message to loads of her friends saying she gave me this number but obviously 1 digit short. Anyone who has her number will know that you are telling the truth as they will be able to see which number is missing and it doesn't give her number away to someone who doesn't already have it as there are 72 different possible solutions to what her number actually is.

Alternatively you could send a text to all 72 different possibilities!!

Sorry I know you asked chewy but here's my tuppenceworth. This is based on the fact that I know your DH has a lot of airmiles and flies a lot so can get some decent deals.

Club is nice. You can force yourself to stay up for the first part of the journey then sleep for the leg from Singapore/Bangkok, wherever, so the jetlag is not too bad.

A premium economy offering of some sort is ok, but try and get the two seats together rather than being stuck in the middle. You should be able to get some sleep this way as well as having access to your stuff when you want to read a book, use a hand-held device etc. Plus there's a bit of room to get around.

Economy is dire, even with the supposedly 'good' airlines. It's just too long to be cooped up unless you break the journey. I don't have enough holiday to do that so have to go the 22 hours straight through. I know some people who can take tablets, knock themselves out and get off the other end right as rain. I can't do that.

Flight was fine. This must be the 6th or 7th time I've done the flight now so probably used to it. I can sit still and just watch carp films for hours on end though. Actually managed to sleep on the plane for 5 hours or so as well which is abnormal for me.

Jet lag is worse than the flight itself, I think. I was really struggling all day today and went to bed at 7pm - I was almost falling asleep standing up! Slept for 4 hours or so then woke up at 11pm ready to go! Now 12.40 and expect I will be awake until about 10am when I will suffer from narcolepsy again.

Having done the whole hog a few times, if you have enough holiday to break it up, it might be helpful. Bangkok/Singapore/KL.

I did Heathrow, Singapore, Melbourne once and I was not a happy bunny. If I had a shower in a lounge in Singapore then it would have been ok to sleep Sing-Melb. But I was icky and tired so I hardly slept.

I always fly economy but I can fall asleep like a pretzel after sticking some earphones and watching a dull film.

    Disaster!

This morning I cut DS's hair. I did it with the clippers and the 3/4" attachment. He complained it was too long. I asked if he was sure but he insisted. I put on the only shorter attachment I could find in the box and cut it, with growing misgivings as I went along. It turns out that I have lost/broken the 1/2" attachment and inadvertently done it with the 1/4" attachment. He looks awful. He is upset. I am upset. There is nothing I can do to put it back. I feel terrible. :(

I will never forget accidently catching middle son's ear with the clippers and making it bleed....I never picked up the clippers again.

Hmm, maybe that is why he now has long hair, too scared to let anyone go near to his ears! :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    The saying goes...

There is only 2 weeks between a bad hair cut and a good hair cut!

You will have to hope he doesn't end up liking it.

    He will come round.

You could always let him do yours to get his own back ;)

Sorry,I couldn't stop thinking of this advert. :)

Scientists and people interested in the Middle East. Saw this story on BBC's Reporters news programme. It is really heartwarming as well as fascinating:

That's nice to see and I hope some how they can make it work and possibly help other issues in some way.

    Am I being overly optimistic?

Are you feeling any better? It sounds like if you give in and buy the shoes we will all report you to the authorities for endangering her tootsies.

It could have got a POSH ALERT and upset her OCD characteristics with the sharing food with dog bit... but I would have risked it.

The shoot is something else - he pays £600 pa for a half gun (very cheap), he knows he is lucky to have a place and it is a real privilege due to location, the characters amongst the guns and because it is also workmanlike and dare I say it gentlemanly. He was invited originally by someone he met through his job.

My husband downshifted careers 8 years ago, the reward for forgoing a large salary and being a nice guy are that he gets to do stuff that many people would pay seriously good money for.

This week he is a guest speaker in scandanavia. He has a few days in the company of a GB Multi Gold Olympian.

I am just glad he is happy and vicariously enjoy what he does.
If you are posh you know that there is no correlation between posh and what something costs.

Cough and fever continue :( but having just been to Morrisons (didn't want the kids to starve) I seem to have strained my lower back by bending and coughing at the same time so now I can barrely move and the coughing is even nore painful :(
    I think....
