I think you should not forget you have made yourself a choice where many it appears from terrible tv coverage did not even know there was one.

And there is the real tragedy. Your mothers offered choices while my lot are still handing out bleach bottles and lycra tops

I think there are some key differences. Traditionally Jewish people have, for example, placed great emphasis on education, and even in families where roles are similarly gender stereotyped I think girls have more opportunity to educate themselves as to choices, even in tis sort of 'extreme' profile, than was shown on the gypsy programmes?

The one in the posh house, with 5 kids with stupid names, Emma Beck, when you saw her girls in school uniform - that school is North London Collegiate, one of the most academic schools around with high school fees.

BTW, the posh house is the place Viva visited recently and was impressed with the High Street. So full of character and posh :)

Oh, wich I had seen that, because the first one was pretty funny.

Do you know any of the people silvercar? Or are you too wise to say?!

Have to say, despite not liking her taste much ( even if i am not disapproving of her name choices ) that Emma beck looks amazing for a woman with those kids/that age etc etc.

Well, as you saw, it's not a given. In ANY 'community'. I have known nuns with less spirit than a dead gnat.

If you want spritual quality go out and grab it, I know you can.

I am jealous of the owners of a pony I have seen on line, but she is not for sale. :(.

I didn't see that, but my mum said it was good. Think it was called Jews at Ten or something along those lines? After that was Curb Your Enthusiasm, which I like a lot.

Re the Jimmy Savile thing. Around the same time, my younger cousin and I tried to whistle blow on a sex abuse case involving a girl of a similar age to those in the Savile case. I was in my early twenties, my cousin was 16.

Not only were we not taken seriously, my cousin got hit on by a detective who was about 15 years older than her because she was a hot 16 year old and the younger person involved had to put up with years more abuse because she was troubled and nobody would take her seriously. Which is precisely why I think there's smoke and fire in the Savile case. What will almost certainly come out is not necessarily culpability on the part of the BBC, but the fact that the police have turned a blind eye over many years. I'll be amazed if they're not at least partly to blame. Which is a shame, because then both the accused and the accuser could have had their day in court rather than what's happening now.

Please don't ask questions about the above as it would not really be fair to go into further detail.
