I didn't want unfurnished, but that's what came up, so that was the compromise. I got the right type of place, within 3 miles of where I'd have chosen, with good storage, off-road parking, little outside space .... and the price was right. I'd have been mad to turn it down just because it is unfurnished.
I've got my laptop and a sleeping bag and a kettle.
I've seen a good priced sofabed, but might just get a blow up mattress.... have to see. I'll leave it all until the last minute, then I HAVE to make a decision.

Errrmmmm, hello all! I haven't been here in a while. I see by part 7 this place is thankfully still going strong - a thread of peace, friendship and support amongst the storm(?) of debate.
Hope you're all well!!?
Lovely to see you. Hope all well with you and your family. :hello:Asda has an offer on cans at the moment. I am assuming you would say that a bottle isn't worth it because you wouldn't drink it all but end up throwing half of it away.
So next NP survey: coke/ pepsi/ virgin cola/ value carp????
flavoured coke: lemon/ lime/ cherry???
diet/ caffeine free/ zero/ red????
alt : diet/ max/ blue???
Coke. Will drink immitations if that's all there is, but prefer actual coke. Can't stand the lemon/lime/cherry/weird flavours, and don't like a slice of lemon in it either. I don't drink it very often, though. Mostly either when I go out to the pub with my mates from work (approx 2-3 times a term) or when I want to stay awake. Unless I'm in the pub I prefer it in the little bottles because I drink very slowly and prefer to be able to put the lid back on when not drinking any for a while. The 250ml bottles are about the right size for me for at home - a 330ml can is too much for me. In the pub I drink it by the half pint, which takes me ages. Since I don't drink alcohol (just don't like it, not on principle or anything) 2 or 3 halves of coke will last me several hours. I am very cheap to take out to the pub.
I don't like artificial sweeteners in drinks generally. I drink a fair amount of hot chocolate (especially at work) because of not liking tea or coffee, and I don't like any of the versions with artificial sweeteners for that either.
I'm with jelly in also liking ribena although I haven't had any for ages. Must get some more next time I go shopping.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

"Moving in money" - to be handed over this weekend, is £2k!! It's not cheap, this private rental malarky! Re being paid, it's not the cash that's needed, more the confirmation that on the 29th we weren't all told they're closing and there's no wages ... sort of thing.
Assuming my writing was legible and everything was processed as it should have been, payday is very close. I am very excited0 -
Beverage wise, I don't drink much in the way of fizzy pop. I think my most frequent mixer is tonic water
I do however prefer coke to pepsi. I don't like diet coke (I find that there is an aftertaste), but don't mind coke zero. I like the cherry version (and dr pepper), but not the lemon or lime ones. I am quite happy for a slice of lemon or lime though.
I go through phases of drinking either water or squash. If its a squash phase, I prefer red-coloured ones to orangey ones. Ribena is nice (hot ribena is lovely in the winter), and I like the strawberry one too.
I am trying to up my water intake at the moment. The water here is very soft - before I moved back to my parents I lived in a very hard water area. It made cleaning really hard work.0 -

Hello
Things are ticking along. Still waiting for work to get going - combination of a number of unfortunately timed things. I have been trying to keep myself busy inbetween meeting-type things by reading around different areas (rather than staring at the walls). So long as they're happy to pay me for that (seems so), then its fine by me. There has been mention today of some more specific tasks so I think things will pick up soon. There is a lot to take in, so I'm looking forward to actually putting things together more practically as I'm sure they will make more sense that way.
The house is fine - don't see much of my flatmate really. A few irritations, but nothing major. I just keep reminding myself of the advantages of living here, and that it won't be forever.
Went back to the Midlands over the weekend (these car things are really handy) as had request from one parent - and when second parent found out they said that they were pleased as they were going to come and spend the day with me. I've only been away 3 weeks :rotfl: It's nice to be missed though0 -

A boy over the road used to have two bottles of Corona drinks delivered to his doorstep every week by the milkman. Oh how I coveted those bottles of sparking goodness. In our house we got 1-2 bottles of fizzy pop as a special "Xmas Treat" only. So, since I've been working and able to buy my own stuff... I'm aftraid I've always loved, loved, loved, fizzy pop
Pep Max for me every time.
I think it was my 'deprived' childhood for my not wanting dizzy drinks.
We didn't have fizzy drinks when I was younger, just plain water or cordial and although I did go a little mad on fizzy drink when I moved out, it never really agreed with me and I would find myself fancying a cold glass of water over a fizzy drink. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I could so with someone like spirits daughter locally. I need a horse exercised for a while I think.
There are loads of people willing to ride few with intelligence or who would be trustworthy. There is a local teacher who has a good rep, so I think I will call her and ask.
