Then wash my hands.
Nah, I'll get the same feeling of joy looking at it online, and moving however much across to my savings account (I only ever leave a certain amount as my 'budget' for the month, knowing that if I really wanted to I could 'pay' myself some more).
I am having a treat though - I'm having a back massage on Thursday (as previously discussed, this was my self-promised treat). I am also going to the Big Smoke over the weekend I think, hopefully American Express are going to treat me to some nice things (if anyone has an American Express card there are a LOT of offers on at the moment).0 -

She genuinely thought she'd found the bargain of the century as she considers herself on the breadline. (Yeah, and the holiday? and the cosmetic surgery? and the nights out? and the weekend event/away? and the drinking in posh bars?.....) Breadline... yeah, right.
Yeah, mine 'doesn't have any money'. The only reason I have any (considering my recent lack of income) is that I've always lived like I don't have any even when I have (not that I have ever earnt huge amounts).

Also, ATM just as an aborition as a result of ...strange things in London, we have a large number of branded carp drinks and some food. The kind of stuff I never usually buy.
I try to give it away as soon as it comes in....friends or in a couple of cases the local food bank (not very far away so easy peasy)
ooooo....that's a thought. FLOATS
although today I had a taste of salted caramel fudge and it was fantastic. I could eat more of it.0 -
Good luck gen!
I'm sure dual nationality must be possible. I've met people with duial UK/Canadian nationality so I imagine it must be similar....surely?
Pepsi max. All the special flavours are naff.
I remember the days of clear colas and Tab too. Can't remember if any of them had different tastes.
There was a book once about the "cola wars" I think and how Pepsi got into the Warsaw Pact countries while Coca cola got into China.
Cream soda was my fave when I was a lad!
Thanks and you are right, there is no problem with dual nationality. You use the passport of the country you are traveling to so I use my British passport if I'm traveling to London and my Aussie one when I come back to Sydney.
If I'm going somewhere else I can use any passport on the way there but have to use the Aussie one to come back.
I have no idea what the sanction is for travelling back to Aus on the British passport, probably nothing.
The big plus is that I can't lose the Ashes any more. The downside is the hassle and expense of running 2 passports which isn't much let's face it. A few hundred bucks and a form to fill out once a decade.
I wonder if having 2 passports gets a posh alert from someone that doesn't have one. Time will tell.
I have no opinion on fizzy pop. I occasionally drink it but generally prefer water, tea, wine or beer. And the odd coffee if I'm in a place that does really good coffee, a rare thing indeed in Sydney.0 -

I will be there on Sunday if you want to potter over a quick cuppa?0 -

Oh, that sounds draining! I'm trying to imagine a chicken mini drama. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I was planning on Saturday - is it your Mad Hatters tea party on Sunday? Sounds like great fun. I haven't been in London for a while. I'm thinking I am going to regret being there at a weekend!
I was thinking about getting in touch with a friend so see if she wanted to meet up. Then I realised that she will be expecting a normal mooch around the shops whereas I am planning on doing a tour of special offers, and am hoping to get my breakfast, lunch and dinner for free, and possibly a couple of extra meals for Sunday/ during the week. (Thanks Amex)
It was fun last weekend 'going shopping', but knowing that I wasn't spending very much (my favourite kind of shopping).0 -

Appreciate the money while you are single / without kids - none of my salary is mine
I have a new Amex - they seem to have given me £50 top cash back and then will give me 125 quid of M&S vouchers or 22.5k Avios points once I have spent 2k. ?I think the DW will open one in a month or two.
One project I worked on was some web development and I drank one diet coke every day which seemed to be just the right thing to build websites when it was all new and trendy. Can't be having with pepsi as it is too sweet and tbh haven't really drank any for the last 10 years.I think....0 -
Quite MSE and suited to this board - I am looking on Rightmove. At houses for Miss S.
I can dream. It is scary . It is going to be some time, and some parental help if she is going to ever get on the housing ladder here.0 -

I will - especially now it is all mine again
Check out the Amex thread in the Discounts forum - there are offers on smaller shops:

This will be catering for me, and buying as many just-over-£5 things as I can cope with. There are places outside London too (not many here, but there were plenty in parentshire)
And £25 back when you spend £50 on Oxford Street this weekend (I'm planning on buying JL gift vouchers if I can't find anything else).
£10 back when you spend £10 in Gap, also £25 back when you spend £25 in Harvey Nicols. I'm sure I won't find anything in there, so that will be gift vouchers too.
They won't count towards your £2k spend mind you, but there are some good deals.0
