So today I have
1. Ironed for the first time in,ages
2. Driven to work for the first time ever
3. Driven back from work for the first time ever
4. Oh, and had my first day at my first proper grown up job!!
Quite a lot of faces I recognise, and everyone seems very.friendly. Haven't done anything taxing today, but did get taken for lunch which was nicePizza on the oven and bottle of ale open as a self-awarded celebratory treat. Here's hoping this is just the start of getting back on some kind of track, which I thought I had completely lost

Hurrah! Well done.
Now, a question, I notice that both nikkster and pn have started new jobs on a Monday. Is this by default? I have always tried to start new things on a Tuesday or Wednesday (if five day week) so I get enough of a flavour before a weekend, but without that first week spaced out by the end of it feeling. Is it me that's odd?
Dh still not heard back apart from that they have ruled all but him and one other person out. (the other person had not interviewed a second time at that point.). We are trying to work out if we can afford for him to take a short break between jobs. Even if it's a week it's something.0 -

I've recently acquired dead air, which I was going to start last week but didn't, & have had the bridge strongly recommended. I know I have execession, which I think is the first. Is it important to read them in order?
Just reading 'Undefeated' a biography by Terry Marsh, it is self published and only available on Kindle £2.06, I am quite enjoying it

I feel like a goddess that I can find the impossible.
Only thing is......I saw some lovely glass tiles while I was there. :rotfl: now we have to decide what we want. I thought I was so cleaver gettiong a kitchen that needed no splashbacks so I avoided this quandry againnow I wish I had some where for the lovely tumbled sea glassy tiles.
I also found stone floor slabs we like for the kitchen, we just cannot afford them yet.
In fact, we cannot even afford a tin of beans now. Thank goodness it is the end of the month.:o
I can only imagine what the end of next month is going to feel like - its going to be like Christmas has come early!0 -

Today was mentioned when I was offered the job on the phone. I wasn't in a state to negotiate :rotfl: As far as I can remember I've always started on a Monday, unless it was a case of literally starting as soon as I was available, or it was a weekend job (natch). I like your reasoning though. Along the same lines I am thinking that now is a nice time of year to start, not too long until Christmas, hopefully everyone is feeling friendly etc.
I was thinking about fir and his interview this morning - well, getting down to the final 2 is nothing to be sniffed at. Will keep fingers and toes still crossed for him though0 -
I found this fascinating:
http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2012/10/the-sex-lives-of-conjoined-twins/264095/
NSFW? I don't know. It talks about sex but it's not !!!!!! or anything. It certainly sets of a whole load of questions for me. Do any of the nice people know a pair of conjoined twins that I can discuss sex with for several hours in a way that they might find very intrusive?
Thought not.
Is this a prurient interest or entertainment? It was not an article I could read as it is neither of those to me ....and claiming a scientific interest would be stretching things.
Might sound a bit of a prig. Sorry.0 -
