    Zag - I have 3 of banks' culture novels. I like his other stuff, but never been a huge fantasy/sci-fi reader - hell, I've never read lord of the rings.

    I've recently acquired dead air, which I was going to start last week but didn't, & have had the bridge strongly recommended. I know I have execession, which I think is the first. Is it important to read them in order?
    I never read LOTR. I listened to it as an audiobook which did the job quite nicely on my long commute in my previous job.

    As regards the order, I don't thinkit matters much. I've not managed to read them all and am grateful for the chance to read them in any order.:T

    The Culture itself is a fascinating concept and does keep you thinking of abrighter future thanother dystopic novels seem to promote;)

    Hey I've just realised this is my 3000th post? Do I get a medal or something?

    Congratulations zag. _party_:dance::beer:

    My 3000th is coming up soon too. :)
    Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
    Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
    Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Well, dog dogs dressing has been patched up from outside.

    I wanted to swap my dogs to referring vets practise but referring vet has morals and will not sign us up while seeing us as referral patients.

    If you only post on certain threads you can easily get that honour.

    Posting things like "good morning" and "(((hugs))))" in some places gets you 40+ thanks.

    Probably spam, illegal, offensive, racist or libellous posts who were dutifully removed by misskool, but he kept the thanks on it? I think that's it. :)
