My advice is: don't go into central London at the weekend cos it's full of bladdy tourists ;)

'Sall right. During the week it's full of suburbanites which is far worse.

:D just caught up. Is it only me that doesn't like Victoria? Drool drool at Louis Smith and love Lisa Riley.

I think she is a very complex person, both on and off of Strictly. She clearly has a huge talent, but watching the documentary on her you just wondered at what cost. She doesn't appear to have much self confidence at all. She's like a very beautiful but fragile ornament.

Louis on the other hand. He would be a "phwoar" if it wasn't for that silly haircut. Oh, that and the fact that if I was a gymslip mother I'd probably be old enough to be his gran. I love the fact that he can bend more and lift more and flex more than the professional dancers. I think that's a first but haven't watched every series.

The place has been ruined and turned into a tourist trap. I first used to go to Brick lane 35 years ago. There were only a handful of Restaurants then, and we used to use the equivalent of The Bangladeshi Transport Cafe. Meat curry and rice or veg curry and rice for a pound :D

    .

In 1981 - 82 I lived in Bethnal Green. Brick Lane was the frist place I ever ate Okra. I didn't like it but pretended I did.

I saw okra growing when I was on holiday. It is the strangest looking plant. I've never even given thought to how it grows before. I quite like eating it, but tried cooking it and it was terrible. It looked like I'd boiled slugs:o.

No I've never been in the Millitary. I named myself after an alarm clock I used to own and I have an ambition to lead a coup and run a junta somewhere.

Could be good for hallowe'en? :D

Edit: meant in terms of boiled slugs, wasn't meaning to insuslt viva's cooking! Think I got into the Hallowe'en Strictly a bit too much!

DS2 is home for reading week, plus a suitcase full of washing.

Funniest is DS1 questioning him on where he has been, which lecture rooms, which buildings, which nightclubs. When he doesn't know exactly where something was they pour over google streetview on their phones and "walk" to where he went.

he came home on the train and his ticket was only £3 more in first class (I guess the 2nd class super advance super cheapies had gone) for that extra £3 he got a table, plug point, fast wifi, soft drinks and a snack pack.

I need a NP to do my washing. New place (if I get it) ... has no washing machine.

All it actually has is: walls/roof/doors; 2 pairs of curtains; built in wardrobes; carpet.

And, it's so dated, all the walls are that thick swirly artex.

DD is back too. Spent the morning moving wardrobes from room to room as we've given her (large) room to DS and given her his (small) room. Got her a new bed which arrived in a box so small it reminded me of Secret Squirrel who had a car in a suitcase IIRC.

Went for a hairdo and staying for dinner. Having a birthday mealk for DS tomorrow while she's here (on his real birthday we'll be all different places):(.

Saw her during the week as we all attended a graduation ceremony in central London. Seems strange to meet her but then have her go "home" somewhere else afterwards.
