Yes, dh himself said he was already an uncle, to my siblings kids, but it's special with your own siblings child too I think.
Is it OTT to buy a pony for a child who has just hit the world and lives on a different continent?0 -

Yes, but only because they have just hit the world and you have no idea yet as to whether they will grow up to like ponies. Could genuinely be a fantastic present for a few years time though.
BTW I am home. Just waiting for water to heat up so I can have a shower and go to work. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Yeah, but they probably will only see it twice anyway....it being here them being over there.
Dh is now on the phone ranting about Facebook. Baby is on facebook, which he considers crass. It's not my taste either, but I see the practicalities. It means the family (and friends) all over the world now know...and many seem to 'like'. Which seems a bit beside the point.0 -

Jewish people mourn for a week after the burial, which usually happens within 24 hours of death. How do they manage that on the basis of getting time off work?
Bloke whose mum had died can't enjoy himself or listen to music for a year.... he's just had to s0d off out of his own house as his wife's throwing a Hannukah party.
You phone your boss and say you need the day off work to go to a funeral, you would have given more notice but you weren't told in advance. If someone really couldn't get there then they can go to see the mourners anytime in the following week.
More of a problem is arranging a funeral at 24 hours notice over a weekend when council offices are closed.
As for the bloke's wife organising a party, really she should do a party without music to strictly comply with the rules.PasturesNew wrote: »I washed my hair this morning, pinned it down so it'd dry pretty straight .... and still spent 10 minutes just now straightening it, so in the morning when I straighten it it'll only take 5 minutes.
How long does it take other people?
... and it's not particularly straight yet to be honest, nor will it be in the morning......
I have cheapo straighteners from Tesco value range. Bit of a spritz from straightning spray, takes about 2 minutes on dry hair. On wet hair I use a super powerful 3kW hairdryer, takes about 10 minutes.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Just for the record, Sydney is a rubbish city.
Yesterday was lovely. 28C, reasonably sunny.
Wake up this am, nice and sunny so I ride to work. I start riding home and the heavens open so badly I can hardly stop the bike from slipping under me. By the time I get home I have been hailed on, it's 15C max and Im' freezing cold and soaking wet.
Stupid country, stupid state, stupid city. I should have stuck with the English drizzle.
Putting baby on Facebook is fine: it's a really easy way to tell the world about baby and then Aunt Dot can show the other women in the accounts department how lovely her little niece is. It's not really any different to getting a load of copies of a picture printed and mailing them to friends and family.
The Huawei looks good to me too. Mrs Generali had one (different model) which served her needs very well.0 -

I think you can be an aunt to the other side, aunt-in-law sounds a bit distant.
How are you delivering the pony to a different continent?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Well I realise today that my worsening "coughing man flu" is in fact whooping cough.
Great! 100 days and nights of this cwap! grrrrrr
Anyone else had it? There seems to be an epidemic this year.0 -

Ah, I get it. I thought it was for them to have there. If you do buy a little pony, it would have the added advantage of being sized for nice people juniors, which sounds a bit like S Club 7 Juniors. Maybe they'll be dressed by fc when they grow up too. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
