Do you mean the Kidman movie The others with this chilling scene here?:eek:

One of the best films evere by my reckoning. On another thread people were listening their top 5 films. What would the NPs top five be?

    Elf :D
    The Shawshank Redemption
    Love Actually
    City of Angels
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel or a Toy Story, not sure which one of 3.

I like my films "easy listening"

I'm not good with films... can't recognise the people (two similar blokes with dark hair and I can't separate them so get confused about who is who/what's going on). I also don't have the attention span or I fall asleep.

    So I don't have a top 5.

I have to watch pretty dumbed down/easy to follow films to keep up :)

What do the nice peeps know/think about DVRs?

At the moment we have a BT Vision box. It's fine, up to a point, but the capacity isn't very big, and there's no capability to connect to an external hard drive. It's great being able to record an entire series automatically, but I'd like to be able to keep the whole series indefinitely without running out of space.

It also irritates me by the way it labels the episodes solely with the name of the show, and even if you click on the episode, quite often you only get a few names of actors, rather than the episode title. It's bad enough if we've recorded half a dozen episodes of something, but I imagine if we do get the capacity to record several series of something, then the organisational problem will become more significant. In an ideal world I'd like to be able to add to the labels with, for example, season and episode number, but I expect that's not possible.

    So, people, advice please. Thanks.

ETA We like the "record two things at once" and "record conflict resolution" features of the BTVision box and would want those.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Top 5? Near impossible. Depends on mood. So I'll just ignore the rules and suggest some for my long list.

Lord of the Rings (can it count as one? pleeze?)
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
    The Matrix
    Gladiator
    In Bruges
    Leon
    Kick !!!
    Caddyshack
Life of Brian/Holy Grail (usually Holy Grail but occasionally it's gotta be Brian)
    Road to Perdition
    This is Spinal Tap
    Italian Job
    Black Hawk Down
    Highlander
    Usual Suspects
    Inception
    It's a Wonderful Life
    The King's Speech

    Oooh, top 5 films

LOTR 1-3 (Boromir's death and Theoden's last battle. OMG the tears)-
    Labyrinth
ST II The Wrath of Khan

I've not seen any of the classics. I have an inbuilt aversion to them, just like classic literature.
