Hiya! Just catching up and I'm right with you on the things having gone slightly tits up at the moment- although we always think it's worse than it actually is.

SAVE THE LAST DAIRY MILK!! (I say as I've just had a caramel with a cup of tea... :) )

Need to get back to updating every day, or all my posts will end up long wittery and extra boring! Drank too much wine last night so I'm feeling fragile and lazy (plus my brain isn't working so typing is an issue!) so will just do some of the old bullet points to catch up!

    - 5 items sold (and paid for!) on eBay on Sunday night = £31.39
    - 2 didn't sell these were relisted
    - 2 finish tomorrow & both have bids, expecting about £10

    - Had email confirmation that I should receive £45.04 for my old phone within 72 hours so should have that by end of week
    - Had email confirmation that £4.62 from Amazon sales should be with me shortly

All this added up gives me £81.05 (+ whatever comes from tomorrow's eBay sales) which I'll use (as little as possible!) to live on until payday (mainly Christmas related things I think)

    - Have been using my spending diary (2013 one started this November for some reason!) and am finding it better than recording things on the laptop - I often forgot to do this!
    - Not including the £81 I have £11.23 left 'free' (I have NEVER known how much I actually can spend rather than the balance of my account before this :j I'd celebrate with a glass of wine but my body hates the thought given the way it's feeling :rotfl:)

    - PUT CHRISTMAS DECS UP YAYYYYYYYYYY I LOVE CHRISTMAS :snow_laug

I'm sure there's more but these are the main MSE related goings on! (+ Christmas ofc :D)

    Long overdue updated list

    -Wash car
-Re-red car (colour restore? Is this it's real name?? I prefer re-red :D)

    -[STRIKE]Put winter curtains up[/STRIKE]

My savings account has been opened for my overtime to go into (when I get some!) Did 2.4 hours over yesterday so that'll be the first lump to go in on 21st Dec (other than the £1 I had to open it with!) Might get some more on Thursday, not sure yet though.:D

Disheartened myself today, I'm down on my flexi hours and they've announced that even though they usually let us go home half day on Christmas Eve, this year day staff have to have the hours available on our flexi (and it will come from that :/) This to me does not sound like a treat, it's just like taking bloody holiday! Which means no only do I have to get my hours into the positives, I have to get them at least 3.7 hours in credit too. All by Christmas. Basically means I have to go in early and leave after I usually would for the next few weeks, when to be honest I can't really be bothered! Gah! :(

Oh on a positive note I put some petrol in yesterday using 3 x '10p off a litre' vouchers from tesco, and so £30.00 of petrol was £23 something! Times like that I wish I could fill my tank to the top, and that it was MASSIVE :rotfl: every little helps anyway! £66 left in petrol account - which I'm enjoying having, it's nice knowing my petrol money is 'safe' if you get me?

When I transferred my 2 old credit cards onto the 0% deal & tried to shut them, somehow barclaycard ended up giving me £40 for some kind of fee I was owed apparently (totally just a way to have me keep my card open!) Which I told them I didn't want but lo and behold a few weeks later (after I'd chopped my card to a MILLION pieces!) my statement came through showing I had +£40 on the card! Anyway I ummed and ahh'd but decided to request a new card, so I can use the £40 for something useful, and then I'll cut the card back up and try close the account AGAIN!

Right, now I'm off to have a cup of tea and set up a standing order to pay £230 from OD1 as of next payday. If I'm still feeling brave I may also check out my CC which has gone up slightly (due to dentists) and update my sig / graph.:mad:

Worse than I thought - CC1 is up to £1946. Really annoyed at myself. Like REALLY annoyed.

Will update sig tomorrow, right now I'm off to bed in a grump!

Updated signature, ergh. £7838.61 total debt. This is 6.1% MORE than when I started. Not a happy bunny right now!

Although, I have been offered (& have accepted!) a full day's overtime, on a Sunday (Double pay!) so providing it goes ahead that should be a nice bonus - only trouble being it's on Sunday 16th and our cut off date for o/t to get into December's payday is 11th! Sod's law!

At least there's some positive anyway!

  • Hi Scuff,

I tend to find that happens with me/our debt.

    I know it's a bit disheartening (((HUGS)))

Thanks guys :) as I'm sure you're well aware it's just really really annoying when I spend 2 months thinking 'Yeh I got a handle on this debt, it's not gonna know what's hit it, I'll show it!', feeling really proud (& really poor!) and then it's STILL GONE UP!!!!!

2 more items finished on eBay bringing me 11.50 (- fees ofc) so once those are paid and posted I will transfer the remainder of the money over.

On Monday night OH left his kindle on the train  but he got a call last night to say it's been handed in! At Scarborough... This means an impromptu trip to the seaside is happening on Saturday, as they can't post it out to him, he has to pick it up in person. Not the nicest seaside ever (or particularly seaside weather...) but I'm super shocked and pleased that he managed to get it back! I seriously though it was a goner! (sp?) And it means I get fish and chips :j

Also in slightly scary (to me) but exciting (to me?) news I have been offered a share of a table at a Christmas Craft fair :jThis means I need to seriously get my make on, as it's a week on Saturday  Bought some supplies for that today, hopefully they will arrive soon! But could possibly be a source of a teeny bit of income :)

I don't think I'll ever get to relax ever again...

And I'm back. The past few weeks have been utter hell, so busy I don't know where I am any more! Not long now though and I can relax into my Christmas jammies and enjoy the 8 days off :) With overtime at work, plus regular time being super busy (it's one of the 2 busiest times of the year for me) plus this silly craft fair (I sold one thing, and lost at least 4 days of my life, it annoyed me!) plus all things to do with Christmas, I feel like I haven't sat down in a month. The house is a tip and we've got to the stage of running out of pants and socks in the Scuff household! Tonight/the weekend's aim is to get sorted, I'm off to a Christmas jumper party (? it's really just going to the pub in jumpers!) tonight, we're off for dinner with my mum and stepdad tomorrow night (they go on holiday over Christmas and it's also my birthday Christmas Day so we like to go out before they disappear as a Merry Birthday tradition) and then I'm working Christmas Eve morning but other than that I'm free to get sorted. Want to start the new year and the new year of my life in an organised and tidy manner! With clean socks! Other than 2 presents (which tech I can buy after the day) I'm done on the shopping though, which is one relief, just need wrapping and giving!

Anyway, it's the first day of the new debt busting plan today - PAYDAY!

I've transferred my money to the joint as per (£800), also set up standing orders to pay £230 into my old OD, £20 to the CC and £120 to my new petrol account - this worked really well last month. I'm also going to draw £100 out spending money for the month, and any left over will go back towards the debt :) Hopefully having this money will stop me feeling so fed up and make me more inclined to spend less in the long run, rather than giving up!

Money for my phone EVENTUALLY arrived - this meant for the first time in A LONG TIME I ended the month with (a little bit of) money left. Only ~£30 but that's a vast improvement on the past.

Managed to get all my presents for christmas with minimum amount of money spent - not sure on exact figures but I was suitably impressed :) yesterday I bought 9 pairs of topshop socks and only spent £1.60 hard cash (due to vouchers and OH's student discount!)

Think that's all for now! Sorry for the ramble I had a big catch up to do and it's been a busy day money wise - I'm sure I'll think of more later too!
