How about a check list....farm animal pictures on paper and they can tick them off if they spot them.
Home bargains had some farm animal masks in last week for about 49p the foam kind all different types.
If your good at baking how about finding some farm shaped cookie cutters (ELC)and making them an animal shaped biscuit with their name iced on it. You could put the cutters in afterwards too with some homemade playdough. (i'll find the recipe out and add it later.

I've made lots of hampers over the last few years and have been racking my brains for something a little different.
My brother-in-law has mentioned on several occasions he would like to trace his family tree but wouldnt know where to start.
Well; ...........
I've made up a hamper for christmas which I hope will help.
I've decorated a cardboard box with brown paper and my daughter has stencilled leaves all over it with a brown luggage label saying "Family Tree..Happy Christmas etc".
With tesco vouchers I have bought a book, Discover your roots for £3.25 of vouchers (worth £12.99) from www.infideas.com/freetime (page 39 of tesco voucher book).
I have added some blank cds (with cd labels my daughter has made up).
I've also borrowed family photos from his family and put them all onto a disc.
Put in a photo album in wh smiths sales with 25% off...really lovely old one (not the sticky sort).
Printed a few of the oldest photos off to start his book off (look on the freebie thread and you can get some printed for FREE from different sites..I used Truprint and snapfish)
Visited his mother/father and grandfather and took a dvd of a mini interview of what they did as children and talking about there family etc. While I was there I asked them to fill in a small memory book....i.e. what was your first child hood memory, favourite sweet, favourite tv programme, pastimes as a child, etc. etc.
I am in the process of looking through the internet for web addresses to pop into a little information book. (if anyone has any websites that would be useful please let me know, thank you)
This cost me approx £15 and I'm really excited about giving it to him0 -

I bought a few DVD,s to put away for xmas for my youngest and my teenager in Tesco. They have loads at just £3 each.
Also, for branded toys have a look at buying from abroad,America or Australia I have found best just now as the exchange rate is so good that you will end up paying about half the U.K. store price even including shipping costs."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Hello everyone. I am doing my 2 neices a "day out "hamper.Using tesco points for entry to animal farm near Brean which i know the 2 littlies will enjoy.Any one have any ideas as to what else i can put in with the day out tickets. Will be putting the leaflet in [with opening times etc].The girls are 2 and 4. Do you think a cheap disposable is a good idea[my brother can process this for free for them]??Any other ideas would be v. welcome.
But in the £1 boxes at the end of the aisles there are animal puppets...they have pig, donkey, chick and another animal but I cant remember what it was..sorry.
I'm not sure if they are suitable for under 3s so you'd have to check0 -
Well, you all have me inspired to get off my bum and avoid the usual last minute panic buys this year!
The days out hampers sound great and I'd like to do one for my niece and nephew (and ds and bil) using Tesco vouchers. I was thinking of the Space Centre in Leicester as not too far away from us and it has good reviews. I know my nephew is into space at the moment too!
Does anyone have any ideas what I can put in with the vouchers with a space theme? Nephew will be 9 just after xmas and niece is 8.
