There's also this website, which is the US one, but you can probably find somewhere in the UK which sells the same sort of thing. It says that shipping outside the US is done on an order by order basis, although with the £ so strong at the moment against the $, it might not be as expensive as you would think...in particular, I was thinking the freeze-dried astronaut ice cream
, which would be quite light weight-wise...?!

Well, you all have me inspired to get off my bum and avoid the usual last minute panic buys this year!
The days out hampers sound great and I'd like to do one for my niece and nephew (and ds and bil) using Tesco vouchers. I was thinking of the Space Centre in Leicester as not too far away from us and it has good reviews. I know my nephew is into space at the moment too!
Does anyone have any ideas what I can put in with the vouchers with a space theme? Nephew will be 9 just after xmas and niece is 8.

DS was born four weeks ago and I'm just beginning to get into a routine now where I can sit and make Christmas things. So far I have knitted a bag, a scarf and a pair of fingerless gloves. I've found a pack of 50 blank ivory cards and envelopes for £5 which I'm going to get and decorate for xmas cards and I've seen some lovely bottles in Selfridges for oils and vodkas which I'll flavour. Was planning on making some soaps, bath bombs and bath salts too as well as chocolate truffles and calendars with piccys of DS on. So much to do, so little time left.... *worry worry*
Are you CRAZY! From what I know of motherhood your role at the minute should be constantly wondering when you will next get a chance to shower! Hee hee, I can understand why you are stressed but look at the list of things you already have. You are doing great! Oh and also congratulations on the new addition to the family :TI got food in my belly and a license for my telly
And nothing's going to bring me down0 -

Just been to an out of town outlet shopping mall & Whittards were having a half price sale on loads of gift sets to make way for Xmas stock, they were selling their hot chocolate for £2 (mentioned in a previous post) which comes in loads of flavours (Irish Cream, Mint, Orange)etc and loads of other items half price Chip & Dip sets, tea for two sets etc. Staff said that sale will be finished by Friday.
Also Crabtree & Evelyn were selling loads of stuff for less than half price I normally never go in because its so expensive but you can bag a bargain at the moment. They will also wrap items and if you mention that its for a present you might be lucky enough to get a nice gift box thrown in for free, I got a gorgeous rose gift box which must have been about £4 to buy. You don't get if you don't ask!
Think I will go back again tomorrow with some more of my Xmas savings & see if I can get all the presents for females.
Hope everyones planning is going well. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

That's an awesome idea! Thank you! If you add a couple of werthers does it make it extra sweet? I have a left over bottle of vodka from when I catered my friend's hen night so i'm going to use that ot make toffee vodka!
What kind of bottles should I put it in? Would clean(obviously!) olive oil bottles work?

:rotfl: I'm fortunate in that I have a particularly docile baby! All he does is eat, sleep and fill his nappy - doesn't seem to realise that he can scream his head off if he wants to! Not that I'm complaining
Not sure whether adding extra Werthers will make it sweeter - would imagine it would make it more toffee-ish tho. A personal favourite is to take a bottle of vodka and dissolve a couple of bags of skittles in it. The sugar from around the outside of the sweets forms a sort of crust at the top of the liquid (I dissolve them in bowls rather than in the bottles) and if you add lemonade to the vodka afterwards, the crust floats to the top and is yummy. Seriously high in sugar tho and definitely NOT a drink for an elderly aunt with diabetes!! :rotfl: I would think that old olive oil bottles would be fine. Selfridges do some gorgeous decorative bottles - shaped like stilletoes and things - for about £2.95 each including their stoppers. Still works out cheaper than buying a flavoured brand vodka.
Sorry - bit of a ramble.

I'm doing a gardening hamper for a friend who is due to move house shortly. Just came across this on the Woolworths site - a Wilkinson Sword garden multi-tool reduced to £1.98.
http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/product/index.jsp?pid=50844072
If you order to collect in store you don't have to pay postage (and Quidco reduces the price further).
Thought this was great for the price and would be useful for anyone else thinking of doing a gardening hamper.0
