  • right i am having seriours problems with my brother :wall: i am hopiung to get my gift list sorted by the end of august so i can get on and buy it... but my brother grrr... the only thing i can think to get him is his annual present ~ a wallet  but i was thinking of buying him some type of storage caddy for the bathroom (that can be hung quite high) and fill it with shower gel etc? saves him pinching mine ;) but at a pricing range of £50~£100 unless its made of gold i have to do some quick thinking... unless i play it safe with vouchers :rotfl:

So you want to spend £50-£100?
Well get a really nice hanging thingy (not sure where...) and fill with bogof but brand names - so lynx bath stuff, maybe calvin klein aftershave and an eu de toilette? I'd see what you can get from Boots with vouchers (pigsback ofcourse!) and maybe for a giggle get him a water proof single use camera... well boys will be boys right?

Woohoo - im having a good day - went out today jsut o pick up a few bits form town and saw in wilkinsons a projector set (kids drawing thingy) from £9.99 down to £4.99 so i picked that up for DSS (aged 6) and also got him some power rangers trump cards then decided Ben should get £10 too so i brought him a dinosaur that roars when you push a button - he loved it so i have finally made a start on the boys

I read all the post about home made hampers last year and thought about how I would be gutted to get one off someone, as though this house isn't already full of rubbish. Much rather someone just spent the £10 they spent putting it together on a bottle og gin.

It was my birthday on Saturday and i'm preggas so no gin!

OH's mum gave me a bag with a couple of mags, a bar of green and blacks white chocolate, a lovley big mug and satches of flavoured horlick and a nighty.

It was one of the nicest things to receive, so thoughtfull. Mum got me everything the body shop does in white musk and I had a long soak, read my mags, put on my new nighty and had a big cup of horlicks and a huge bar of chocolate. So relaxing.

    :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

So can we assume you are converted? Sounds like a lot of thought went into your gifts!

I got food in my belly and a license for my telly
And nothing's going to bring me down

LOL well just get him his own scrunchie thingy and check Boots (with your pigsback vouchers) and I bet you can get some set or other for him for very little money :) As well as Knight Rider.... How concerning the kid looks up to the Hoff... but bless, he's young yet ;)

Glad to see kindred spirits out there, my Christmas shopping is almost complete (just my DH to buy for and I do leave that to Xmas time)

Cards and Wrap bought in January Sales, and then most of my other presents have been bought in the summer Debenhams / M&S / Disneystore and Next Sales.

A big thankyou to whoever mentioned the 5 Xmas movies for a fiver on play.com, I'm doing a movie box for my friends 3 little ones so this is a great idea for them, different from anything else they will get (they get so much anyway, I always try and do something different, they got baubles with their names on last year).

I keep a spreadsheet of all my purchases (Mainly so I know who has got what), I buy for 17 people (excl DH, but incl of all his family) and have spent £210.66, I do try to spend a £10 per person, but sometimes I just get so tempted particularly for my niece and 3 nephews. Had I paid full price for these items I would have spent £427.92, so a massive saving.

My friends and family mock me for being so organised, but with that kind of saving I take it on the chin.

My other reason for buying so early is that we live so far away from our respective families, if I have bought everything by August, I can start distributing from September onwards on visits, which saves the mad dash at Xmas to ensure everyone has their presents (and great expense - we are in the Midlands, family stretches from Kent to Scotland). I can also buy whatever I want without being restricted in size, due to excessive postal charges.

Been doing this about 5 years now since getting married and familes expanding with nieces, nephews, godchildren etc.
    Pay all debts by Xmas 12 # 072 £1201.79/£15,105.68:eek:
