Love this thread! Last year last minute chaos and no money, this year I have decided most peeps are goning to get a hamper - after reading these on here I can't wait! The baking hamper sounds great, my youngest DD is moving into her own home before Xmas, she loves baking so that's going to be her Xmas hamper. There was a candle sale at Sainsburys yesterday, rushed there and bought three fantastic big blue latticed candles for £1.97 each, they are the start of three hampers.

My sister has moved to a new house in England this year, they are trying to give up drinking so much (they've just moved from France!), have got the posh candle for them, anyone got any ideas of what to go with it? They are very weight concious so no food, no drink, no ornaments.................they have lots of money so I just don't know what to get (cheaply) for them.

    Suggestions please!

How about CD of relaxation music and some massge oils?

Maybe his and her bathrobes. Primark do them at very reasonable prices, even managed to pick up a couple earlier in the year in sales for £1 each for my friend's pamper hampers.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Have you got kids or a OH? I'm thinking vid footage or photos on a CD of the time that they haven't seen much of you or something like that? Or a memory book/CD of when you were kids?

LOL or what about a Welcome to England Hamper, with British stuff in, teapot, different types of tea??

Love the welcome to England hamper as I have done the bathrobe/bath type thing before. What a good idea, but I will have to be careful it doesn't overlap with my mum's, have decided to make her a tea lover's hamper.

I can't wait to start looking round town etc for things, hampers are so much fun for the person making it up!:j :j

DenBo - hay im doing a tea lovers hamper for my nan - has to be fruit teas though because shes allergic to regular tea. weird ladyAnyway as for your sister - you could do a welcome to the uk hamper and include like mentioned a teapot, some earl grey, maybe some crumpets (obviously add them last minute though) some little jars of preserves, maybe a book of nice places to visit so they can spend quality time out together, movie voucher for spending time in together maybe?

For tea hamper makers, how about a little book to put in it as something a bit different, such as

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Little-Book-Tea-Tips-Books/dp/1904573320/ref=sr_1_42/202-4760539-0443013?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1186912685&sr=1-42

    or

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/20-000-Secrets-Tea-Effective/dp/0440235294/ref=sr_1_90/202-4760539-0443013?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1186912792&sr=1-90

Worth keeping an eye out in places like The Works and other cheapy book shops as they often have this type of book going cheap.;)

Just a thought for a little something different...:D
