...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Ok signature updated! It looks good BUT thats birthday & xmas totals... In terms of Christmas I only actually have 5 presents sorted and ideas for 2 more. Which leaves 10 that I'm stuck on!
So far I have:
Friend 1: Dressing gown reduced down for £40 to £20 in La Senza Sale
Friend 2: Pamper Hamper made from the Boots Naked range when it was 1/3 off
Nan: Royal Jelly Gift set reduced to half price from £12 in Jan sale
SIL: Pamper Hamper made from Boots Karmatherapy range (1/2 price in Jan Sale & Ebay)
Sister 2: Chilli Pepper smellies set ('recycled' gift from last yr)
And I'm thinking of doing a retro sweetie box for Friend 3, and a Retro Childhood hamper for Sister 1 which will include a sweetie box and other essential nineties bits!
I need inspiration for: OH, MIL, FIL, Mum, Dad, Female Friend (22yo), Male Friend (22yo), OH's grandfather, OH's baby cousin (1yo) and baby cousins parents (both female and in their 30s)...
PLEASE keep posting what you've got as ideas for people as I wish to shamelessly steal them :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for all the ideas for a hamper for my sister, having looked at the books I think a tea hamper for my sister might be a good idea too, but much posher than the one for my mother! My mum wouldn't like the tea book whereas my sis would, but I think if I go along the English/tea theme for my sister it might work out. Especially if I could find an England teatowel! I shall now spend my time scouring shops for a cheap(ish) tea pot and cups & saucers that look posh/expensive!:j0

I just have my brother and his wife my son and me to buy for this year as my friend's that I buy for have said they are going to stop buying now...dunno why but one friend said she felt awful as I had gone to alot of trouble with there pressie's and she felt like she hadn't so I haven't to buy them anymore as they feel awkward accepting my gift's...so anyway...£50 for my brother and sister in law so I was thinking a digital photo frame with a 2gb sd card and as I have got some wine from my tesco wine club 30 bottle's for £40 with a £15 off voucher...so it's cost me £40 for those...so give them a couple of bottle's wine each as well as the photo frame...my son that's easy this year I want to up-grade the tv's so he's getting a 32" LCD tv and I'm getting a 37" LCD tv for the lounge....then he want's a PS3 so that's easy enough....then I want SKY HD so he can have my sky+ with multiroom...I don't know whether to get the tv's before xmas or wait for the jan sale's...would be nice to have everything set up for xmas day but then it's not really a surprise...and the hd box will have to come after the tv so would mind waiting until after new year for that...it's hard trying to work out what to do for the best really ...do I get everything before xmas or do I wait until after xmas which will be like nothing to open on xmas day...but I thought I could get my son some game's to go with PS3 so he'll have them to open...should I get some small gift's to open on xmas day with some cards with IOU's in them after xmas get everything delivered and set-up...
I don't know will I get anything else knocked off the price for waiting or should I just go for it before xmas and get everything set-up...how much do you think I would save...the TV's are £300 and £400 the HD box should be £149 on offer...the PS3 is currently on offer at £399...that's with 2 wireless controller's and 2 game's bundle that was £550 when they first came out...am I going to save anymore on that....:D
Pls be nice to all MSer's

I'm doing very well in my preparation for Christmas now. Went shopping on Saturday and bought loads of stuff. I've now got 17 presents and spent about £156. If I hadn't have made use of the sales, I've easily spent over £200 by nowComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0

I'm doing OK and only have family presents left to get. However, I'm kicking myself for not getting some Boots vouchers from pigsback sooner! They've got their sale on at the mo and there are loads of kids toys and games, which would be perfect! So I am torn as to whether to just buy them with my money, or get the vouchers, knowing that there won't be a sale on in a few weeks time! Oh well, they might have an autumn sale!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts

After all the great ideas here, I have decided a welcome to England hamper is great for my sister, also it will be a tea hamper! Today from the Tourist Board I bought an England teatowel and a Hertfordshire "antique" map to go in their hamper (they live in Herts), will keep a keen eye out for a teapot etc. Also towards SIL beer hamper I got him an England tea towel too, but that's cos he's an England footy fan!
I can't believe I'm buying Xmas gifts in August   :eek:0 -
Hello
after much inspiration I have managed to (almost) finalise a pamper kit for one siter in law and a gardening one for the other as well as sterting ones for both sets of parents. however what do you buy the grown up BOYS? everythng they like is either stupidly expensive ( set of golf clubs or proffesional poker chips) or they just buy it for themselves! any Ideas welcome!Only two big facts are known for certain: you are on a large, spinning rock hurtling through lonely space at about 67,000 mph, and one day your body is going to die. Will a new pair of shoes really help?
