If it is use by then no...if it is best before then it probably won't kill you, but won't be at its best...2014 GC: £957.61/ £54000 -
thinking of growning beetroot and red cabbage, then I can pickle them and give as presents! The sign of a wasted life is a tidy house, Welcome to the chaos!0

Well it's getting closer and closer! Actually maybe I should do a list of people I need to do pressies for and compare them to my christmas box upstairs... hmmmm
We still need to decide on what we're doing regarding christmas this year... if we're staying in the UK and basically having it on our own, or if we are sorting out the hound with a pet passport and going home to Denmark for christmas this year... Would love to go home but we also have the wedding next year to think about and going home for Christmas won't be in the least bit cheap with a dog in tow... No cheap flights, will have to drive (ferry or channel tunnel) and the cost alone of a petpassport... *sigh* reminder to self, check with vet friend and find out how much it will cost and if we're in time this year to get one for hound... otherwise the problem sorts it self out...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! i had an xmas pudding last year that must of expired a good 6 months before the day, (sorry can't cut and paste) i cooked it up and every one loved it. i reckoned all the booze inside it would keep it ok. and it was from fortnums!!0

I've started my planning - had a flash of inspiration but I can't say what as my mum & sister both read this site
DD has already been told that for Christmas, since we're away at IL's, we'll buy her one pressie and then take her shopping at the Trafford Centre or wherever including a meal out as her pressie from usSince we're at IL's I don't think I have to worry about paying Santa this year for DD's pressies, except maybe 1 or two (i'm thinking Disney DVDs when they're on BOGOF
) as I think Nanna/Grandad pay for the stocking pressies this time :money: Plus I don't have to worry about food except a Christmas Cake, unless SIL decides to make it
I like "odd" years, we alternate one Christmas with my family, and then the "odd" years we spend at ILs who live 2 hours away :rotfl: Saves me a fortune!
My budget for this year is £225 I think  will have to double check I have everyone listed this yearAlready I have bought part of DD's pressie from us - 2 cookbooks from Aldi at £2.99 each to go with some "vouchers" for her to cook tea (I'm thinking of giving her maybe 20 or so?) as she's 6 and just learning to make things with supervision now she can safely stand on a step and see what she's doing on the worktop :rotfl::rotfl:

Last week I found last years christmas pudding hanging in the larder. We looked high and low on christmas day and have looked since. Then, last week, there it was hanging in a really obviously place and very past it's sell by date. I'm going potty.
Great thread...I have all the wrapping paper, cards etc and a few stocking fillers. This year i'm saving money to go shopping in October as I hardly ever shop so it'll be nice to go and buy it all in one go. I'm buying stocking fillers as I go as otherwise it can be expensive xxJanuary budget

I especially like the little poem that goes with it! Could substitute something stronger for the dammit bit though!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Hi All, hope the stockpiling is going well and bargains are being got in the current summer sales!
I have my present box and have decided that tonight I'm going to go through it, label the presents up as to who they're for and see who's left! I might then get out in the sales and see what I can get!
With regards to my growing pigsback points, I'd like a little assistance please!I was originally going to trade in my points (should have £30 worth by the end of the month!) for Boots vouchers, but I note they also do John Lewis/Waitrose. Does anyone know whether either of them do 3 for 2 offers like Boots? Do Waitrose supermarkets have a non-food gift section? I just wondered whether straying from Boots might cause me problems and I'll end up with nothing!
