I was actually wondering if it was too early in July to start planning/shopping for Christmas but I see you are all ahead of me!
I’ve brought 2 presents so far, just when I’ve seen bargains. I’m going to try and get a few more items in the summer sales too. I’ve already got cards and wrapping paper – all brought in January sales. My aim is buy all the stocking filler type presents as cheaply and discounted as possible but I’m going to stick stringently to my list. Promise!0 -
do sainsbury's have a savings stamp scheme and if so what is the bonus?Debt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO0
-
can someone explain about tesco saving/food stamps have looked on line and cant see anything about it0
-
Tesco stamps you got £1 bonus when spent in December on I think it was last year on the £50 cards
Sainsburys still do stamps I think, don't know what incentives there are.
I've made a start this week after Nicki mentioned it on another thread. £100 in the tin which will double as my £2 savings tin. One toy for my son and one bottle of aftershave for my Dad bought so that is a start.
Haven't set a budget this year so far but saving early last year mean't I had plenty without getting into debt at Christmas including a complete OTT present of a laptop for my Dad, hoping for another debt free Christmas. Lack of storage means I have to mainly save up cash/vouchers etc to spend. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
I looked at this thread when it first started and thought...i really must joinin this and get myself organised this year! I then looked at it again in feb and again several times since! And guess what....yep you got it, i've still not done a thing!
Really wish i had now though cause im stuffed. I have promised to take my son on holiday on an aeroplane next year so am busy saving that whici is going to leave me really tight for xmas. If only i'd of listened to myself back in jan, it wouldnt of been such a problem(
Ahhh well we live and learn! My xmas planning starts today!!
Is it possible for you to take him away on holdiay over Christmas kill two birds with one stone and save loads of hassle?0 -
Lurrrrve this thread.
Just found it. I love Christmas as well. I have huge boxes in the loft full of half price Boots gift sets from the Jan sales, wrapping paper, cards, odds n ends.
I must get up ther and make a "Christmas Book" as someone has said they do. This will save me doubling up on gifts for people and then having to save them till Christmas '08!!!!
Enjoy your preparations and

just a little update from me... i now have 40 items ~ costing £22 in my xmas box and i have over £120 saved (will be £250 come dec) but i am wondering when you all start order online from?0
-
Well, I've just started!:j
I've ordered and recieved my first lot of online purchases. I was waiting for HMV's sale as i wanted some of the River Cottage dvd's to go in a hamper for my OH's parents. I've got 3 of them all £5.99 each.
Their hamper will be full of organic wine/scrumpy, jams etc.
I think they'll love it:DGood Enough Club member number 20
