oooh just found this thread and love it i

im organised every xmas well it is the same every year

so far i have got £50 morrisons saver stamps
£90 on my asda xmas saving card
    all 3 DKs stocking fillers
all xams cards and wrapping paper
£10 each m&s voucher and boots voucher
huge box of smellies etc that i have won throughtout the year in raffles etc(and ive taken out loads for bday prezzies
    ive started on xmas cake
the only thing i have to fork out for is DKs main present and Oh prezzie and i have started savigng for them as they will inevitably change their minds a dozen times by xmas lol
people think i am mad but whilst im at home feet up glass of wine etc they are running around like headless chickens at xmas time worring about the cost or getting naff prezzies at over inflated prices (and they do go up at begining of dec) who is the mad one there?
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

Well done on being so organised Webitha, and what you said is so true - plus of course people who leave it all till the last minute often end up putting everything on credit cards and dreading huge bills in january; been there, done that, learnt the lesson! ;)

  • I start my xmas prep at the end of July, after my twin's birthdays.
I do get Tesco and Wilkinsons stamps throughout the year but they are spent in June/July on the birthdays and then I start again straight after.

Check out Wilkinsons for stocking fillers tho' as my nearest had loads of stuff at half price today....all the art/craft bits, glitter fairies stickers, pen sets etc I got loads of stuff today to fill the birthday party bags i.e 8 mini scented gel pens for 49p. Spent the £19 of stamps (+ the bonus £1 they give you) and came out with 2 'bags for life' full! Will spend the £40 of Tesco stamps on food/drinks, cards and paper etc......so just have to pay out for the Hawaiian Luau stuff (different thread).

However, I have already managed to sort out a major part of Christmas.....I have succeeded (sp?) in falling out with the majority of my family who have not spoken to me for the last 6 months and so Christmas this year will be nowhere near as expensive as usual!

About Flylady's Holiday Cruise Missions - I still have links to the ones from last year including videos of her telling it how it is :)

This is mission #1 which seems to be missing from the following list which is the remaining missions #2 though #31

They might be useful to someone - otherwise I am sure she'll do something like this again next October.

Hmm, same here (though years, not months, ago); christmas is so much simpler these days!

its a shame that these things happen but its always good to distance yourself from aggravation and squabbling ;)

  • would a Christmas pudding with a date July 2007 be ok to be eaten for Christmas 2007?

Could get a Gordon Ramsey BHS one for a quid but the five months past its date is worrying me a bit

it may be ok, but personally I wouldnt chance it. others may have differing views though.

i'm the sort of person who'll buy frozen stuff past its date so i'm not sure why i am not willing to spend a quid on a pudding which will be past its date by then

could always buy one but have a frozen or chilled desert for New Year which could be used on Christmas Day if the puds gone off.

As a side topic why do people serve up a rich desert when people are stuffed from the 97 different things for the Christmas lunch?
