Lindt Lindor Caramel 200g boxes scanning at 1p this morning. I had picked up a box last week when they were £1.12 so thought I would pick up another this morning. No SEL but went through at 1p, popped back for a few more :j
These scanned at £3.50 - I made sure I had the correct bar code. I checked with Tesco staff and they said they never put items on at 1p, if there are any, it's a pricing glitch which is corrected asap.0 -

It is obviously the store's mistake, why wouldn't they honor the prices that their own machines have generated? Who is a SA to have a say whether the price is accepted or not, if it's in the computer? I would appreciate a culture lesson so I don't make a fool of myself and buy everything on the lists!
Once you have paid for the goods they are yours, but any shop can decide not to sell you something at the last moment - for whatever reason. It is an offence to advertise items for a lower price than the price charged at the till, but not if the other way round. No contract can be enforced because one isn't made until money changes hands.0 -
Someone on FB complained that they'd had their shopping taken off them after they had paid and were leaving the store!!0

I was so excited after finding this thread this morning that I printed out the list and rushed off to the huge Tesco's in Craigavon (Northern Ireland). After spending 2-3 hours scouring the shelves and finding a few of the items above not one thing went through at 1p. I wasn't a happy bunny and my husband was ready to kill me!
I'm guessing that this doesn't apply to us over here??
Please correct me if I am wrong any other NI people as I would love to get a bargain0 -
Not sure how people are having so many issues with staff. I haven't interacted with a staff member at a Tesco in a while since I use scan-as-you-shop. Occasionally a voucher won't go through and I get them to fix it but apart from that they're not needed.
Going to Tesco tomorrow, will be taking a list of things to look out for.0
