Oh my, that sounds just like my bedroom!! I decided to start dusting behind the bed  The hoover was required before the duster!! On the plus side, I found a suit carrier and hoovered it (Yip, mighty dusty under my bed!!). Now I'm wondering if I should Gumtree it or freecycle it in the hope that I may get a slow cooker in return. Actually, it's cold hard cash that I need rather than stuff so I think I've answered my own query. While I'm at it, I might clean up one of my leather FatFace bags and try to sell that too. It's lovely, but I don't use it very often. I'll maybe stick everything on there that's currently bidless on ebay as well. It's free to list so there's no harm in trying all avenues.
Oh dear, back to the bedroom now......0 -

Ummmm the gym was a waste of time! I clearly didn't have the energy for it, managed 15 minutes then hit the swimming pool. Then between the lockers and the pool I lost my nose thingy, then gave up and hit the steam room.
Then came home and ate loads of slightly not-risen-properly bread machine bread slathered in butter and jam.
All my jam is done now though! Grr! Another loaf is gonna get put on soon though. With more yeast!
Right I need more tea - hope all the tidy tidy tidy upping is going well!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Hello everyone.
Kat, I am waiting to see your bread!! I actually gave my breadmaker to my friends mum the other week. Shamefully I moved down the country in June 2009 and the sellotape that I taped the lid down with for the move was still on it when I got it down to give to her...:o:o I didn't like how heavy the bread felt when I baked it myself. I'm a one loaf girl, and luckily the warburtons medium white loaf is £1 in ASDA
- still not quite as MSE as baking your own, but much better results for me!
I've cooked a pan of stew the size of a small yacht; it's on the hob at the moment. Think it will feed me and hubby for at least 2 days, especially as I will be adding dumplings & lashings of bread to dip :T
Was meant to be a nice day out for me & the littlie today. Unfortunately the rain derailed plans to go to the wildlife park & instead a trip to the doctors for a very sore bum (Jellytot, not me :rotfl:) was in order. She now has nappy cream for thrush which has to be kept in the fridge. Better not mistake it for garlic puree.
I'm updating my figures today. I forgot to update the money we have saved because once I have sent money over to hubbys account I have no control & just forget about it haha!

Hi chickadees.. I have a very friendly tabby attempting to lie on top of me, under my arms, on my arms.. and pawing at me to hug her. SO appreciate my efforts in getting some words out ELKfjnb;OIVJUAW.... see what happens when moggies type....
Lilt I daren't show the little hump of bread that I turned out. There wasn't enough yeast and it didn't rise properly. Didn't stop me scoffing two massive doorstop slices when I managed to wiggle it out of the pan... just had a lump now too with honey ( that I had to stick in the microwave cause it went super hard - NOW that's MSE)... shame I left it in too long and it came out bubbling...:rotfl:
I would agree that the bread can come out quite dense but I am loving the different bits I can do and not do by hand...:rotfl:..kneading dough for pizza in 6 minutes anyone...
However it goes hard very quick...will have to check with Mummy NSK as to what she does - think I need an actual bread bag..
Lilt glad it ain't your butt that hurts.. but poor Jellytot.. never a nice thing for the little ones. Is she cautious sitting down..? Poor Tot!!
[STRIKE]Currently grilling frozen peppers and courgettes - bit soggy! With the last tomato, the last of the broccoli and a little onion. 1 cup of brown rice and I have curry cubes from the local Chinese superstore (replica of Wagamama's katsu curry ) and this should do two meals.[/STRIKE] YUMMMMMMMMY!!!... EATEN.. my goodness that curry sauce makes anything tasty..
So the lemon drizzle I made yesterday is very lemony but am worried that the entire loaf took nearly 350g of sugar..:eek::eek:...SO have taken a re-stock of my flour and bits and bobs and realised I might be able to make sultana and cinnamon bread rolls... with a bit of carrots etc... I am going to be inventive! Watch out! Lol!
Oh my - I am so boring but I love it!
MySupermarket listing being completed tonight to get an idea if £50 for the month is do-able. Siouxsie has agreed to hit the same amount with an emergency £10.. should be interesting living on £12.50 a week! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Right.. off to make baps .. with cinnamon and sultanas.. or something..:)
ONWARDS!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Hahaha evening you moneysaving super loon. My favourite bread to make in the breadmaker was italian herb & cheese. I also put sun dried tomatoes, and basil into one. Nice to experiment. And absolutely nothing beats the smell of freshly baked bread!
I miss my kitty cat dearly. She was such a lovely tiny little thing. And she used to type allllllll the time
hahaha
She's actually a very firm believer in sitting down...She loves standing up on the sofa & bed, then sits down hard with a flourish. Fearless little monkey. Have an idea I will be up changing nappies a few times in the night. Have already had one crying wake up
bless her!
OMG at the lemon drizzle cakes sugar content! My mum is always on at me to give Jellytot some jam on toast but I refuse to give her something where the recipe calls for equal parts sugar and fruit. A sweet tooth she does not need!
I read somewhere that a lady on the forums makes things with her pastry scraps, mixing in raisins & cinammon & baking them up. I thought it sounded fabulous!
Items on my wishlist are currently a cheese toasty maker as my grill is a toxic dump, a slow cooker so I don't leave the gas hob on for 4 hours cooking a stew, and a food processor. I left all these items with my ex & have never replaced themI'd cook so much more if I had these!
First I need to buy (actually need!) a sofa bed. Preferably a double, and not one that is a glorified mattress on the floor. My parents come to stay often and stay in a hotel most of the time as sleeping on the sofa/floor is not a great option. And I have a friend coming to stay in July who will be staying an entire week. Again the sofa is not an option. I think if I find one around £170 which is a pretty decent sofa, it will fit in my bedroom & not be an unwelcome addition.
Ramble complete. I should probably go to bed...

Hello, mind if I join you all? Been reading a bit but I am no good on this computer thingy. Your posts really inspire me to save, save and sort my finances out.
Did not really think about it until my sister got married and bang (!) her life is sorted pretty much...and I got to thinking about mine. Mid life crisis i guess as I turn 30 at the end of this month. Eeeeek! I have a degree, good job thankfully earning about £27k a year, no debt at all since I worked hard after uni to pay it all off. I did have a basic £2k saved but am down to £600 as the wedding cleared me out. I have no family to help me out really -no one to stay with while I save or to hand me a deposit for a house so it is just me literally. Going to start with June and get through each month. Luckily for me Kat helped me work out a budget (over tea) I can hopefully stick to.
Rent and bills work out to be £800 a month, I can save £400 and that leaves £300 left. So about £100 on food and will try to save the other £200 for emergencies. Will be pushing this when I get paid and will appreciate any support I get. Thanks everyone and the lovely Kat for all your help. xDebt free. House deposit £75k. Good Morning All...
Lilt you REALLY need to look at FreeCycle. I think my bread is horrid since I am using cheapo flour and not correct "strong bread flour" - but I am going to try some by hand tonight as I won't be going anywhere. A boy says he might buy me dinner:o (not Geordie Boy) but since he has a habit of cancelling (just like Geordie Boy) I am planning a quiet night in with a possible gym/swim visit.... But Lilt ask around - some people on freecycle haven't used items they want rid of. You could score high there - put individual requests for each item and see what happens....
However... without further ado I shall introduce DueSouthTwin2 to the forum - Hello chickadee...:T:T:T. ...
DST ( I should have warned you names get shortened..:rotfl:) and I went to Uni together and are gym/cinema buddies. We spent yesterday together where I was treated to a Cafe Nero tea and cake AND lunch...(this behaviour will not be encouraged as my LLL is okay with "home visits" from friends)... We went to the library where I joined and picked up a few books on growing my own vegetables and one to mirror what DST is reading (we are so sad)...
The main reason we are in this together is for the same purpose...we want our own houses. DST quite rightly indicated she is a very generous person but is now focusing on herself.. We have a lot of el'cheapo dates ( swimming, cinema and gyming) and it is GREAT to have a buddy who is in the game with me... apart from all you virtual lovelies...:T:T:T..we actually shop the same having visited Tesco "just to look"...
Siouxsie when you doing your food shop..? I looked at a bag of lentils in Tesco yesterday - 2KG for £2.99 = 75p per 500g unlike my usual £1.09 for Versillies 500g lentils - I think I might invest! I am still working the other items out - can I live without cheese? I am going to try 500g for the month as it's a massive luxury and not that good for me..:rotfl:
I am rambling...

Good morning everyone. Thanks for your welcome Kat.:o
Successful morning so far -clawed back £60 from virgin media as they took a direct debit when it had been cancelled. Hoping to do the same with Orange for £60 too.
Set my online savings goal to £1800 by last day in August. (£400 a month on top of what I have saved already) Whoop! Fingers crossed.
Off to see my boyfriend today as its our anniversary today -4 years! Got a small gift for him paid for with clubcard vouchers. Every little helps! Kat and I joyously said this to a till lady yesterday in tesco and she just looked really grumpy. Essential that we all keep positive! :j
