Well good day to you all!!!
Finally declaring an NSD as I have had a super lazy day. Put the tree up today though and the sparkling lights make me very happy! ....Happy you have made such a massive dent it's such a massive encouragement to us all! Well done to you!
My brother is coming home tonight and since he is single too it will just be a tight family unit this Christmas. He was out last night hunting down some perfume for me in the crazyness of Belfast town - I am sure you have all seen the news so I am amazed he even bothered...
My Dad spoiled the surprise of a gift he got me, I told him he still has to wrap it and stick it under the tree! I am determined to force a Christmas out of this family if it kills me. We have such a laid back affair it's un-real ...hence I only put the tree up today! :T:T:T..I am surprised that anyone bothered with gifts though as we usually don't seeing as everyone is so broke! I think I shall start planning a little Christmassy affair this year for them all!
I am SO fired up for the New Year but am determined not to let it disappear into debt busting only. I am however eager to see what my income may be this month and how much I can whack on top of my bike loan. Its currently sat at about £2189 and I am hoping to pay about a £700-£900 over-pay on it. I have my little fingers crossed if Mr Tax Man doesn't get me first.. then obliterate it in the following two months whereby everything can then be poured into the last remaining substantial land loan...
Anyone know how I can upload a picture so you can see where £14500 of my money went..?
His_Missus.. you are right about FB. Its great for a chat but its taking up way too much of my time otherwise. I am actually looking forward to getting rid of it. I think I used to think too much about "status updates" etc.
I never posted my life on there, no intimate details etc.. just pictures of my cat and the odd witticism... but scanning, posting on others walls etc was taking up way too much time. I need to channel all my efforts into changing my life around... share away, I like hearing other people goals!..Your over-payment on the CC is GREAT by the way. How does it feel? 6 more payments of £516 - how do you plan to do it??? Spill....
Mayfair - I think you are right. The odd night out to keep you sane is necessary. Its important though, as you have done, to budget, know how much you have and stick to it, savour those glasses of wine, quench thirst with water in between etc...ohhhhhhhhhhhh good grief I sound like someone's Mum... Have a wicked night - let us know how much you used in the end!!!
Killer did you ever decide what to do with that £500 from you Daddy's life insurance? I am interested if you don't mind sharing.. I know this is a difficult thing for you to discuss though! How much tat do you have in your house to clear - do I smell and EPIC eBay sell coming on??
Right folks.. I am signing off for now. I shall check back before bed but am off to church tomorrow in a town thats about 2 hours away ...my brother is driving so if he is too tired I shall say hello tomorrow. Otherwise it will be an evening check in again... aiming to be fed as well so another NSD tomorrow..:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Happy Friday Evening to you ALL!!!

I forgot to add my goals!!
For 2013
- Run the London Marathon and not die
- Become debt free (And stay that way!!)
- Have a holiday with the hubs. A week in the sun with no distractions
- Start a little emergency fund
- Find a job that I enjoy (as much as you can enjoy a job!)0 -
Mayfair are you in the London Marathon - you got a spot?? You need to wear something we can all see you in - like a neon sign flashing "DEBT FREE"...
Oh and sod the guitar for starters ...I wanna learn the Irish Low Whistle instead.....lol!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. I am so sorry :shocked::shocked::shocked:
Killer, I saw your little shouty - thank you many much for thinking of me.:grinheart
It has been an utterly mad week or so. Christmas present shopping complete & wrapped by Monday this week wooppyjamas bought and waiting, little Xmas Eve outfit for Jellytot bought in the Boots 1/2 price sale (had to be done!!)
Today all Xmas meat was bought and oh boy was it expensive!!:eek::eek: but my own personal challenge is to make it last as long as possible in as many different forms as possible throughout January!!!:rotfl:
Overtime Monday & today = £80 in my pocket & straight back out on food & bits today. Plus side is that my bank account still has £150 in it and nothing to go out apart from veg for xmas dinner. Final bit of overtime though
My months wages and child benefit came in today - popped them straight out into a savings account all of their own, to be added to by tax credits income on Monday and not touched until 28th - normal payday. Stops me getting a bit blas!!!
How are you all? You're all busting serious debts again!! Just to remind you, council tax payments stop February and March - for those who pay them, that's free money sitting in your account. So looking forward to an extra £260
Off to sleep. NSD 16 tomorrow.
Night night!!! xx

Good morning everyone, how are you all? I guess most of you are off now, positioning yourselves for Christmas and doing the last minute preparation
Hope it's all going well and not too stressful!
I'm just doing a super quick update as I have loads to do, but I'll pop back later with a proper update and maybe even my 2013 aims, just have to think about them first!
Made my final payment today to my Santander loan so that's another one struck off the list! 4 more debts to go before the end of 2013, starting with my Capital One Visa. Incidentally, during my call with Santander to make the payment, the ... trying to think of a job title for her! The operator? The bank person? Anyway, she told me it was a flexible loan with a £5k limit. I didn't pay much attention but now I think I may resurrect the loan to pay off another debt. It's only 16.1% APR, compared with some of my credit cards which I'm paying off at almost 40% If it's an option to do this, it makes much more sense....no time to think about it just now though, my niece is arriving in a few hours and I still have to make up her bed and do a mini supermarket dash (which will be no dash I'm sure on 22 December!!).
Hope you're all wellCatch up with you all soon x

SIOUXIE - how are you? Mummy asked about you today! Ha! SO you are considering getting a loan to cover cards and clear the high interest? Make sure its for the exact amount you need - not a £100 more etc.. But I think it's a good idea! Tell us what you decide when you can!
Lilt nice to see you dropping in.. am glad you got that overtime but I am so sorry it is finishing for you! I like this whole " money in a pot until the 28th " .. I think Abundant is doing that too. Means I have full control of you all for Januarys Challenge..Mwah ha ha ha!....ahem.....
No church today for me today as Brother is suffering from flu like symptoms.. nice easy day at home with LOTS of tea.. its amazing just how much I can drink. Brother came home with two gifts one of which was given to me yesterday "Suki Assam "Borengajuli" Premium Leaf Tea".. its posh tea - thats all that matters!!
The few things that make me happy in life, writing implements, perfume, tea and nice paper. I am so easy to look after it's un-real!
So I take it everyone is running around like loons getting ready for THE BIG DAY! So I can assume we are going to be low on the ground for a little bit.. its okay I am more than happy to just type, chat chat chatter away and type some more....
Neighbours cockrel is going mental ... now I know we are really quite remote....

Hey All...
Have been seriously contemplating joining this thread too... and have been doing lots of number crunching to see if it's even possible...
At present my predicted end date is around September 2014.
If I threw everything... and i mean *everything* at my debt I'd be about £500 short by the end of 2013.
It would mean throwing my £1000 Emergency Fund at it (but could do that last thing), and it would mean surviving on just:
Grocery £50 per month
Other Spends £50 per month
Fuel £50 per month
What do people think - is this do-able without going stark raving mad and becoming a total recluse???
I could aim for 20 NSD per month leaving £5.00 spends per spend day... My groceries would need to be £12.50 per week or less... It's certainly a challenge.
Kat - how does this compare with what you are aiming to live on...???
Clearly - any overtime and monetary gifts could be used to clear the debt quicker or have a treat...
Arrrrrrrgh  Am I a mad fool for even contemplating it???!!!
