    Hello all!

Hope you're all well. I have been absent for a week and looks like I've missed some deep discussions on here.;) You've all been so busy too!

:oMust confess I have spent far too much this past week and on Christmas in general but decided I would worry about the cost in January. The wrong attitude I know, I know but sometimes I want to enjoy life without worrying about money.

Financial security...hmmm....I think once my CC is paid off and I can start seriously saving so we have a decent rainy day fund is when I'll start to feel financially secure.
Hubby's wage pays all the bills and mortagage (mine would almost cover them) so if one of us were to lose our job we'd struggle at the moment. Hopefully by this time next year we'll be in a position where we'd live comfortably (though somewhat frugally) if that happened :)

It was our work's xmas do on Friday night, freebie do AND I came home with a bottle and half of red wine - bonus! Well, the restaurant had uncorked all the wine (20 bottles for 24 people) and there were at least 3 full and 4 part bottles of red left over so we shared them out with the red wine drinkers :D There's nothing quite as nice as free wine.

Also work have decided to give us Xmas eve off as an extra holiday, yay!

All my food shopping is done til the NY, though will need to get fresh milk, bread and catfood this weekend (Fussy cats no longer like KittyKat and prefer Mr A's again!)

Oh, I always look for receipts at the SM, only ever made pence though

ETA: Sorry just realised this is a very long post, oops!
  • His_Missus.. I think I have asked before, but assist my NSK head and tell me how much is on your CC? Would you want to get a signature up there and let us see whats what. REALLY make it public? I know what you mean about losing your jobs - if I lost mine I have absolutely nothing to fall back on!

This is why I might look to up my skill level in 2013 as well as all this debt-busting. I am very interested in becoming a nail technician though as this skill is needed far and wide and could be something I could earn from on the side. Another area to research me thinks....

  • Good Evening to you all... can you believe I am still up getting myself sorted for tomorrow. So once again I have have a late night but all for a good cause as I get to see MUMMY TOMORROW!!!

I shan't be able to message at all as I am not going to buy the internet credit as originally planned.. am going to enjoy my trip home, write a bit in my diary and chew on my packed lunch - aren't I good...( gotta make up for todays spend for cat food and litter...eek!! )

So be good while I am gone for a whole 24 hours ( although I might check in once tomorrow evening..)

I am leaving the house at around 1000, two hours to the airport, two hours to hang around and starve ( hence packed lunch ), easy flight, transit to bus station, await until 2000 bus to home town, travel another 2 or so hours and hopefully get in around 2300. NO rest for the wicked!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Onwards and Upwards!:)

  • Morning All!

Safe Journey NSK! See you on t'other side :)

Had a frugal couple of days after the xmas presents on Saturday. Spent a big fat 0 on Sunday and just a few quid on a top up at Mr A's yesterday. I assessed the cupboards and freezer and decided that a food shop wasn't needed so just got the essentials of bread, milk etc. No womble'd receipts this time though.... boo!!

Got car no 2 insurance renewal through. I'd mis-calculated and thought it was due in Feb. Really want to pay it off this year in full to free up a bit of cash from the monthly payments and also save on paying them interest. Going to do it with December's pay which means there will be no big lump off the debt this month. It's a bit disappointing but I know it's MSE to do it that way. Also, as an aside, the renewal quote is by far the cheapest to be found, and it's £100 ish cheaper than last year. Well done Mr T's ;)

Got a few ebay bits finishing tomorrow morning. I've got 19 watchers on a half used bottle of perfume  MADNESS!

I need to go today and get some brown paper, do the pound shop do it?

    QUOTE]

My CC bill arrived last night. It currently stands at £3360:( It's not that I don't check it, I always do to make sure there's no dodgy payments, I guess I've not really taken into account interest and any new payments on it, which I usually pay off that month as well as the minimum payment.

Will be much more focussed on it in 2013 as I want it gone by June 2013
  • Safe journey ninja :-) enjoy the time with the family xxx will post later hi all xx
