  • Dearest Friends..

I read a blog recently about a woman who resigned from Facebook. She was wanting things to happen in her life and surmised the 3-4 times she spent browsing FB, check status updates and looking at pictures was taking up around 20 minutes at a time. Now I know for a fact I spend WAY too much time on FB and sometimes am checking is more than 10 times a day. This is wasting my time!!!:(

I love sharing pictures of my cat, more than people like looking at them.. and will miss the instant interaction and amusing comments I can post on peoples walls but I really want to change my life this coming year and time is a precious commodity..

So also is friendship - I want cards, not a one liner on my "page".. I want friends to ring me not "poke" me.. so I also want a few closer friendships that 100 basic ones...

Lets make it a little more clear.... what I want from 2013 is this..
    • No debts
    • A new job.
    • A great 30th birthday holiday in April.
    • A hotel and tickets to Revivial @ Goodwood in September with 5 friends ( plus 2 new vintage outfits ).
    • To learn the guitar.
    • To start learning a language - Russian or French.
    • ...and lastly to live on my own anywhere.

Not to shabby - but this will require a lot of thinking, a lot of working, and even more sacrifice and planning!

So FB is out! I also pretty much want an excuse to use real letters again, to use my much loved fountain pens and collection of tissue lined envelopes. But does anyone appreciate this any more?

I am going to have another look at my funds tonight... this can and will be done. I am also going to look into what is called "minimalsim".. living with minimal items but living life to the full void of "stuff" that most people assume is essential.

    Watch this space...

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

Hi Kat, I think it's probably a good thing to not spend too much time on facebook. Some people just say everything that come into their head as their status! This one guy on my facebook updates his status a minimum of 6 times a day! :o

I love your list of things you want to achieve in 2013, I'm trying to learn Russian! I'm failing but at least I'm trying! Good luck on it! Is revival a festival?

I'm going to steal your idea and put my aims for 2013:
    • Save £5k (Up to 1k at the moment but I also need to learn to drive..)
    • Learn to drive
    • Get a car (to share with sister)
    • Earn at least £100 extra each month
    • Clear my house of all this tat!
    • Work out what I want to do in the future :o
  • Good evening all, ninja the facebook idea is great it was lovely when i had facebook downtime it was taking over my life it was a habbit rather than a need. I get paid tomorrow yippeeeee :) i will be moving it all to savings and then transferring back on the 28th so i dont get drawn into more money than i have dilemma hahaha.... nothing worse than the long wait to payday 5 weeeks! next year they are sticking to standard 28th which i thinks rubbish but encourages better budgetting :). Nothing to report from my end :) Happy thursday xx

  • Afternoon all! Happy payday :j:j

Not much to report here! Had eBay item all finish yesterday and made 40 quid ish. Keeping it hidden for the moment as I've re-listed a few bits so will put it straight on the CC when it's all finished. Hubs got given 2 bottles of wine as a tip at work, that's the Xmas day wine sorted, and picked up the crackers, quite a nice set, for £2.00 in the sale. Yay.

Works Xmas do tonight, I've planned a whacking £50.00. But an unavoidable taxi journey will eat 20 of that. I'm very excited, haven't been out for months and months, this time last year I was out every week! (sometimes twice). Also out tomorrow night for a friends bday. All happens at once but i'm really looking forward to it :D Have got the money out of the budget envelop marked, 'going out' so it's all planned and accounted for.

Sigs updated.... Car insurance has been paid in full so minimal reductions this month as expected, next month should be a different story though. And I've vowed that any cash pressies I get over Xmas will go in the CC.

Happy days! 4 Hours until I can start drinking *tick tock.....*

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hello all.

Paid £234 towards the CC today leaving it standing at a whopping £3092.

I really should cut down on Fb but it's a great way to keep in touch with my bessie. We use the chat but unlike a phone call or texting it costs nothing and we kind of do it at our leisure. There are lots of "off to make a brew, back in 5" or "ciggy time" (her not me) "just going to hang washing up"

Do you mind if I share my aims for 2013 with you all?

    * be debt free by June 6th
    * restart the "be more active" routine we started in summer but which has waned during the winter months
*have savings of at least £1500 by December 2013 .
