Update on today's list...
My list for today is...
[STRIKE]1. Grab a shower
[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]2. Keep sorting through the acquired junk in my room - almost there now and I have my boudoir back. :T[/STRIKE]Half done - still doing it but will stop before bed in half an hour.
[STRIKE]3. Make small shopping list to help batch cook. Need toms and kidney beans for chilli. And get some fruit to take with me to work.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]4. When I've been paid, work out what to do re overpaying loan and taking some of my card. Think I will have to take a few hundred off my card to allow for some Christmas spend...[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]5. Do whatever it is I decided I should do re money. [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]6. Go out and get passport photo for railcard.[/STRIKE] £5 for five passport photos from Tesco!!! Can't believe it.
[STRIKE]7. Get bits I need from supermarket.[/STRIKE] Including everything for lunches tomorrow-Friday and a few bits for next week.
8. Print off insurance claim form for phone. Fill in and email back with proof of purchase to hopefully get fixed.
9. Add a phone cover to my Christmas list
10. Clean inside of my car. It defo smells of McDonalds in there when you get in which is suspicious as I've no empty bags from there or anything. This makes me think someone may have dropped a french fry under a seat... or worse  ha
Will print phone claim form now and leave it going while I'm tidying. Car will do tomorrow.
So now for list for tomorrow:
1. Get up at 7  to do a practice run to the train station in the morning. I'm going to a station that I need to drive to but there is no parking and I want to check out street parking around that time of morning. And traffic time.
2. While at train station buy my rail card. MUST remember to pack passport/driving license to show them.
3. Clean car.
4. Go to Ikea with my sister. I want a bookcase and my mum gave me some Christmas money towards it so I'm going to get it. The unit I currently have my Mac on it seriously leaning to one side and just looks dangerous. So I want a sturdier one that my TV will also go on (it is currently on my floor not being used) and to put my books on.
5. Pick clothes to wear for work Thurs and Friday. I am NOT a morning person and will appreciate the extra 10 mins in bed more than anything.
6. Make dinner or tomorrow- chicken stir fry.
7. Make chilli for Thursday and get packed lunch together :A
8. Get shower tomorrow eve (again, will do anything to have more time in bed in the morning)
9. Paint nails
I'm going to leave my list like this as I think it's quite do-able and I'll be mega happy if I get it done. Not going to put up my bookcase tomorrow because if I strategically leave it downstairs my dad will put it up while I'm at work. He loves a good project
Night x0 -
Little update on today's list below. I'm really liking the list method as I really love ticking them off

[STRIKE]1. Get up at 7  to do a practice run to the train station in the morning. I'm going to a station that I need to drive to but there is no parking and I want to check out street parking around that time of morning. And traffic time.[/STRIKE]
Done
Although I have realised I might be better going from a different station... A bit cheaper from elsewhere and wouldn't make much difference to travel time to and from. Only works on advance tickets though so sticking with original plan for tomorrow and Friday til I can gauge finish times that are likely to change.
[STRIKE]
2. While at train station buy my rail card. MUST remember to pack passport/driving license to show them.[/STRIKE]
Yep bought! £28 but have saved a bit already. Had a bit of a panic when I thought I might not be able to use the bloody thing before 10am but I spoke to First Trans Pennine Express who said it was fine to use with advance tickets woohoo hello cheap tix :T
3. Clean car. Waiting for the car vac to charge (I'm sure it's broke) and will give it a quick spruce shortly.
Sis wasn't up to it which means I've had no spend other than railcard and train tix.
[STRIKE]5. Pick clothes to wear for work Thurs and Friday. I am NOT a morning person and will appreciate the extra 10 mins in bed more than anything.[/STRIKE] First day outfit... going for my skinny jeans with a blue blouse and some worker style boots I think.
[STRIKE]6. Make dinner or tomorrow- chicken stir fry.[/STRIKE] Just eaten- yum!
[STRIKE]7. Make chilli for Thursday[/STRIKE] and get packed lunch together :A
Got my stuff out to make chilli for tomorrow but noticed my sandwich meat has a BB date of 12th, so going to take sandwiches tomorrow and Friday and keep ingredients in freezer for next week. Also taking some yogurt, banana, orange, bit of choc, some herbal tea and berocca. Might also take some popcorn. I have a massive problem with constant snacking at work. I don't usually have a big meal but will graze all day. Trying to stop- honest! :A
8. Get shower tomorrow eve (again, will do anything to have more time in bed in the morning)
Will do after car sprucing.
9. Paint nails
Will do after shower.
Today has been quite nice despite the early start. My alarm stupidly went off at around 2.30AM  by mistake and I was proper confused, but realised that the journey to the first train station is okay at 07.40ish. I have to leave my car on the street in a little housing estate nearby (as the station has almost no parking) but it's free and I'll make sure my old steering wheel lock fits on.
May change to going from Oxford Road next week though, as its a *tad* shorter to get to and there is somewhere a bit better to park my car. Well I say a bit better, it's a little unused bit of private land that is proper dodgy walking back to on your own at night BUT it's off the road and I can seriously take anyone who tries to pull anything off haha.
Plan for tonight is to finish filling in my phone insurance claim form and email it back to them with my proof of purchase. Been due for ages! Do another load of laundry, quick clean of the car, make my sarnies, get a shower and an early night in bed and do my nails. Want to be in bed by 11pm latest!0 -
So I am preeeeeetty knackered right now!
First day at new job done. Was lovely and the team are nice which is a bonus
I may have decided to drive to work instead of train. I didn't manage to do my make up very well at all on the train this morning due to it being cramped and the guy opposite staring at me. At one point my bronzer went flying and ended up on his seat too which was embarrassing
And then just missed the train home so had to wait another HOUR for a train to Stalybridge where my car was. Also on said train there was no seats so had to stand up which resulted in me paying £3 for a hot choc and a muffin to cheer myself up.
So £15.80 the journey cost. If I would have driven it would be about £10 (???), I could've left 15 mins later and would have left work exactly when I wanted to rather than having to wait or cramped train.
Another girl on my team lives just a bit out of the way so going to see if she wants to car share
So sharing petrol and parking would make it a LOT better for both of us.
Off to have LO chicken stirfry and then grab a shower and zzzzzzz. Dad has a terrible sleep pattern and woke me up last night so def ready to give my pillow some 'me-time'.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE :j:j
So strange it feels like Wednesday, that's what you get for starting work in the middle of the week! As much as I love swanning out about this time for a night on the town I am sooo looking forward to having a nice night catching up on some zeds. Might make myself a hot choc and put a film on in bed
Money saving is going really well so far. Only spent £1 today and that was because I got to the station early and it was tres cold so I got a porridge from the kiosk for £1 which was right toastie
Apart from that I've been taking my lunch to work for the first time in forever! Last 2 days were proper packed lunch style because I took sandwiches (my sandwich meat goes off before everything else
with little pots of yogurt, some fruit and little snack size treats ha. Can't wait for next week when I can get onto soup and chilli. I bought some soup to take instead of making- but was only £1 a carton (which will do 2 servings) so happy with that. Brocolli & Stilton and Beetroot. Still also got PLENTY of snacks to take so may only have to buy some fresh fruit if the bananas don't keep. Might pop them in the fridge now for surveillance...
I am actually really excited to see how far I can get without having to buy any food. :money:
In other news tomorrow I have a dental consultation for some cosmetic work. I know this is NOT very MSE but something I've been considering for a while and the consultation is free so may as well! I am going to also check out other options. My NHS doesn't do private treatments but others do so I might see what their prices are for what I want doing.
And finally we are GO for driving to work. Trains really getting me down
I can leave a bit later and also not be bound by a schedule which is nice when you actually want to leave work at finishing time! Car share is NOT happening as to pick up my colleague it adds an extra 20 miles- EACH WAY! So no to an extra 40 miles a day. Trial will be on Monday so will report back.
Brief plan for tomorrow:
1. Post Lovefilm DVD when I go to town.
2. Post phone claim form when I go to town
3. Make a bit more of a dent in my Christmas shopping when in town.
4. Look for free parking near work.
5. Take pics of stuff for Ebay.
And I think that's it in my world, hope everyone has a fab weekend planned! x0 -
Yesterday I signed on the dotted line for some dental work. Total cost is £2995 but will be definitely worth it an I have no doubts or regrets whatsoever

When I had decided to go ahead I was taken straight in to have the moulds and casts done for my retainers and I go back on 22nd to get them fitted
I paid £300 deposit yesterday, I pay £1347.50 on 22nd Dec, and then 5 monthly installments of £269.50 after that.
Because of this I've decided NOT to take the £1k that I would usually do off my loan next payday and to pay for the big installment on 22nd. My normal loan amounts of £164 will still come off as usual so nothing will be late etc.
And as an added bonus, the clinic I am going to is in the House of Fraser and when I was paying my deposit just happened to be looking at the points card (being the points card addict I am!) and I can get points n my dental treatment. Yesterday had a points promotion of 10 points per pound so got 3000 points- enough for a £30 git voucher which I can use as another pressie before Christmas!!! :T:j
Here's hoping there will be another points promotion on on 22nd when I pay my biggie off! :cool:0 -
:wave:Hello and gosh I have been bad at diary upkeep

Been so busy going to and from work (the bloody M62 will kill me soon) and also been out every night this week so been absolutely nackered.
Stayed at a friend's Monday, went to the ballet on Tuesday (how civilized
) and stayed at a friends last night. Got tonight at home to catch up and then off to London tomorrow after work until Saturday night. Note to self must buy tickets in a mo!!
However, things have been VERY good on my MSE front. I've been taking lunch to work every day and only bought something from outside today for the first time.
Have also managed to find free parking near work :j and I should be able to park there as long as I get in before 9.15. So hopeully set off before 8am should be fine.
Got nothing on my list to do or tonight except pack and book my tickets, shower and sleep, but have a biiiiiiig list for Sunday so will update over the weekend properly.
x0 -
Going to get straight onto it today with my list. Had a fab weekend in London catching up with lots of friends and went to a fab gig. Not been as motivated to be MSE savvy recently as have been feeling a teeny bit crap about other stuff (bloody men eh!) but let's get back on the wagon for this week.
Plans for today are:
Make shopping list for Tesco. Got a £3 off £30 voucher to use today so want to stock up on work food for lunches etc this week and possibly next.
Actually do the shopping!
Get petrol while at supermarket.
Book hair appointment. This is free because of a deal I bought while ago, just need to book.
Book massage appointment. Also 'free' with existing voucher.
Make portions of chilli for work this week.
Find a nice recipe for the sausages I have.
Wash the car.
Read and sign work contract.
Do some laundry.
Only spending on petrol and food so happy with that for the day for now
x 0 -
And fill out my phone insurance form! Drat!!0
-
Oh and find out when payday or work is. That would be useful! There is a hance I may have to wait until after Christmas to get paid which would not be amazing.0
-
I don't have to wait until after Christmas to get paid- woohoo. In fact I was paid on Wednesday, very efficient of new work! And I get paid again on 21st December.
It's very strange because from the wages I got this week I'm itching to take some off the loan/CC, but because I'm paying for £1700 of teeth on 21st December, I have to save it. Never thought I'd hear myself saying I MUST'NT pay off my debt haha.
I'm going to pay for it on my Amex card which is paid in full every month, so by the time December's comes out of my bank on January 21st it'll already be in there.
On other notes, I'm really enjoying taking my lunch to work everyday and not buying when I'm there. I think winter helps in that I'm too much of a wuss to go outside but I love having chilli/curry/home-made sandwiches, and I always take some chocolate and snacks (big downfall of mine).
I've been really really tired during the week now I am driving nearly 90 miles every day BUT started getting into a little pattern which is nice. The week goes really quick anyway and I can't believe it's Friday yippee!
So here's my list for this weekend:
1. Put £150 cash into my bank. This was from work expenses so needs to go in before direct debit comes out.
2. Clean car. It's pretty dirty. Supposed to be white and it's currently a light grey.
3. Book massage
4. POST PHONE CLAIM FORM. Yes still. I'm not repeating Scuff's gym letter saga here haha
5. Get some Christmas pressies
6. Book a leg wax.
And that's it for tomorrow. I'm staying at a friend's tomorrow night so wine and a film which will be nice. And will think of some more stuff for Sunday.
Night for now... yaaaaaaawn! x0
