Aww I can't wait for the pitter patter of little tiny chocolate feet :D

All good here. Adjusting to working full time and trying to be a mum and keep on top of the house. I feel I am balancing it okay at the moment as my new boss is great

I can't wait to get debt busting even more. I have had 1.5 good pay cheques which has allowed us to get back on track with bills. Xmas will obviously be a factor over the next couple of months but I am determined to still overpay some stuff. January will be where we really kick the overpaying into gear. On paper we should have a really good Xmas and then be able to finish my loan with the end of January's pay day....maybe febs. Exciting times :D xx

Off to start a new diary :p

It is exciting - theoretically I should be debt free by the time we have a baby as it takes time to fall pregnant and then the 9 months so should all be ok :)

New job seems to be going really well lovely - amazing overpayments to be made a real financial change and a new job that you love - perfect! xx

It's payday! Just worked out monies and it's going to be a very tight month. Roughly £60 per week to live off to pay for all food (my part) and anything else. Eek - not going to be easy but has to be done. In turn I am clearing 50% of a debt this month and the remaining 50% next month which will see me cleared in full and 1k down on my debt balance on top of all my normal payments.

Soooooo lots of NSD's for me. Today is a day off and no money will be spent as at home. I shall clear/sort and tidy the spare room which has become a bit of a dumping ground.

On another note, it's been eventful today looked out to see pooch annoying our cat in the garden - automatic reaction to get up and run out but forgot that I had shut the patio doors leading to the conservatory = bit fat cut lip and a nice bump on forehead :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • Lol I know I shouldn't laugh but it's funny, however I hope the lip is ok xxx yay to 50% of a debt gone it gives us lots of motivation. I keep making amends with my spreadsheet, sometimes I cut the budget too fine but I just want the numbers gone ASAP so lets make it count, I went on money advice and it does a baby budget gives you rough estimates of first years cost and so we know what we can accommodate. Although we can only plan to the best of our ability one day I'm pro every penny on finances. The next I'm thinking I should be saving I can't find my happy medium :-0

    Hey Happy!

I know what you mean, i'm the same. Try to do all sorts and end up in a pickle so at the moment i'm trying to stick to the "paying debt only" option and everything else will fall into place hopefully. Already since June i've cleared two smaller debts, cancelled direct debits un-needed and after i've cleared this debt in Nov in full then i'll be £200 per month better off. This is all relevant as this £200 will be saved until I can clear another debt in full. It's nice to know they are going!

I haven't seen the baby budget thingy - may take a look but I worry I become all consumed with baby and falling pregnant if I do too much. I think we'll start saving once we are actually pregnant if that makes sense? I really want to take the relaxed wait and see approach if possible - easier said than done once you've made the decision to actively start trying, ha ha! That said i'm turning 34 this weekend so need to get into action, especially as we would like two

How exciting embarking on a new journey towards our first little babies :) If anything this should be the motivation to keep at it with our debts. We'll get there :D xxx

Just got final balances after Septembers payments and total debt = £20,746.44 :j

October payments have just been made today and I have paid over £1200 towards debts so really looking forward to next months final balance. Should be sub 20k, another milestone would have hopefully been reached :D
  • Well done choc,:) i have again done my budget plan and i have much to my dismay decided to only put £500 overpayment per month and 100 in savings, ive basically created a relaistic budget and instead of paying for things such as haircuts when they happen i have budgetted a monthly put away but it beats scrimping together when you need to.... hopefully extra money can be made and so fourth but for now i need to have a plan i can follow and achieve... we will do this :) xx

    Hey,

That makes perfect sense. Better to have a budget that is attainable and doesn't over stretch you than have one you constantly feel like you can't do - far to depressing when it's that way around.

Small realistic steps in the right direction will see us there and before long it'll be gone. We CAN do this, just need to keep looking at the bigger picture and hopefully 2013 will not only bring us both less debt but also a little bundle of joy too :D

On that note, I need to start being far more healthier with my eating - i'm rubbish and probably don't give myself the right amount of nutrients, let alone if there was a little person inside me. Already started taking the multi-vits for mum to be with folic acid. Now onto embarking the next step, gentle exercise that I can sustain without giving up and healthy eating....wish me luck!

    Choc xx
