I have had the builder round and the damp in the bathroom was caused by some felt perishing which needed replacing so that was another £40 but I am glad that the problem has now been resolved.
Whereabouts is your damp occuring then Danni?LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

Its progressed to mould in the bedrooms. Mine and the lodgers. I think its because we have the bedroom doors closed. We also dry our clothes inside and I'm trying to save/ build up the courage to buy a tumble drier. Its just annoying as I know it'll financially rape me on the electric. I also have it in the bathroom but I've left the window open and we leave the light on (so the fan comes on) for longer. My HM's BF's family have a big dehumidifier so we borrowed that and that took the damp out of the air. Will try and remember to get that running again as it was really much warmer and felt nicer when it had been on. I think the problem in my room is that I dry my hair in there. It only clicked the other day when I saw all the steam coming off it.
Hows the tenant? Got a date yet? :-p[STRIKE]£2200[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£1950[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1850[/STRIKE] £1600 on my credit card

Sounds like you are doing all the right things to try and keep it at bay, I'm not sure how much a dehumidifier would be to buy but it might be a good investment.
You could try some water and washing up liquid to try and remove the mould to make it look a bit better as that worked when it first happened in my bathroom.
Haha I never got to meet the single girl in the end and the new tenants are a couple so I haven't got any gossip for you! Well I still have two weddings coming up so who knows. So what is happening with you, I'm not sure that you can be sort of single?!LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

I used baby wipes to remove the mould and then an anti mould wipe on the paint work. touch wood its not been back. The bathroom will just need a good mop down I think with bleach and that should shift it. I've just been busy and not overly inclined to do it when I get home!
I thought the tenant was a single lady with a cat? Check out the bridesmaids at the wedding, isnt it usually expected that they want some?
I asked the girl I was (still am I guess) seeing if she wanted to 'go steady' as it were, she said no. So, I guess technically I'm single, but not really as I wouldnt date anyone else. I am very much still in debt though. That sucks, no grey area there.[STRIKE]£2200[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£1950[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1850[/STRIKE] £1600 on my credit card

Sounds like you have it all under control so hopefully it won't come back any time soon.
Well two people viewed the house the day before I went on the stag do and when I came back the letting agent told me it was a couple who wanted to move in so not sure what happen to the single girl.
You really have a way with words don't you! I think that might be a rumour that blokes have put about to be honest!
Well you never know, over time she might come round to the idea, if not enjoy it whilst you can and just have some fun. Yeah being in debt sucks but I have come to realise it is not the end of the world and it won't be that way forever.LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

I'm not sure its that much of a rumour, girls get all romantic and smoochy at weddings. Plus we dont want to get left on the shelf! Plus, most rumours start somewhere....
Shame about the single girl but I guess it is more important to get the house rented then sort out your love lift.
Re the dehumidifier, I saw some in Argos/home base etc for about £50. The one I've borrowed is a large one but from what I can tell it's worth the investment (of the £50 once I get the situation under control so that I can keep on top of it). I also remember reading somewhere its cheaper to heat dry air then wet air. Not sure how accurate that is though.[STRIKE]£2200[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£1950[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1850[/STRIKE] £1600 on my credit card

I like the idea of a love lift, sounds very 'Take me out'.
Sounds right that it would be easier/cheaper to heat dry air as wet air would be more dense I would guess. Go through a cashback site and you might get a bit of money back, I think I spend too much time on this website!LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

ha ha, I cant even be bothered to correct it.
I will probably get one in a few months. Need to get my credit card down, the interest free period is nearly up and I dont want to pay more than I need to.
I dont get the logic but it seemed like it could be true so it stuck in my brain.[STRIKE]£2200[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£1950[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1850[/STRIKE] £1600 on my credit card

Yes de-humidifiers help with damp - can also put them on at time of drying clothes so they dry quicker.
Thank goodness it's nearly spring and we can get them outside to dry.Debt Free. Have my Van.Find dream
