Well as it turns out the couple have split up so that is why they are leaving the house.

My next dilemma is that the estate agent has found someone to move in, a single woman. The only problem is, she has a cat. So I have to decide if I want someone living with a pet, when I first got told this I wasn't too bothered. However the more I have thought about it the less keen I am on the idea. Can picture my leather sofa getting scratched to death!

    Hi,

I wouldnt worry about the sofas. I have a cat (!!!!!! the cat) and my sofa has a few nail holes in it but 1, they arent noticable and 2, a pet owner knows about this and will be expecting a slightly higher deposit.

You might also find that she's cleaner cos of the cat hair etc.

But.... you now know 2 single women. Any of them fit?! :-p

Its ok. I asked her out on Christmas day, got very drunk etc. and she said no. That kinda hurt a bit but oh well. I'm still seeing her cos she is really nice.

You haven't called your cat that have you?!

Still not sure but I need the money so might have to go with it. Not sure I see your logic about her being cleaner though!

I haven't seen either of them so I don't know. Maybe I will have to find out!

Well if you are enjoying being with her then just keep seeing her and see where things lead.

I just think it is one big con!

You don't get ripped off as you don't have to buy over priced flowers/chocs/meals etc

Maybe there is a reason I am still single!

So here is my monthly contribution to this thread, with updated sig.

I have been away on the stag do and spent more than I planned but it was well worth it, no more needs be said about that! The weekend to Bristol has been cancelled so that will save me a bit of money. I still have the two weddings to look forward to where I will look to take advantage of the free wine on the tables to help keep costs down!

My tennants have now moved out and I have some new ones moving in on the 15th so that is good news, even though they do have a cat. The bad news is the house needed some running repairs as there are a couple of damp patchs showing in the bathroom and back bedroom as that has cost a little bit of money to put right.

My mum got three numbers on the lottery and gave my sister and myself £10 each which was nice seeing as I can't play it anymore! Every little helps as they say.

Not sure I'm allowed in here since I've been seeing someone since November...

but I'm pretty sure I have found the perfect woman - she insisted that I all get her was a card for Valentines day. Being me, I got her a single rose too which she loved.
I got home to find the house covered in rose petals and love hearts as well.

no one has ever done that for me. I thought I was destined to be single with brief forays into relationship land. this woman is proving me totally wrong. Not only that, she knows about my debt, doesn't care about it and offers me lots of support.

happens when you least expect it I suppose.
    Live Positive.

    Total Debt: £14666.86
    DRO Granted 02/05/14.
    Lesson learned, all paid off.

Now Self employed, very happy and moving on

    Make that two....

Still sort of single and still very much in debt. And yep, the cat is called that and she replies to it too.

Glad you got a new tenant. What are you doing about the damp? I've got the same problem so want to know how to fix it!

Hands off Danni I asked first!

Where I have it around the bottom corners of the window the builder doesn't think it is too much to worry about so have removed the mastic and have applied paint designed for kitchens/bathrooms and have re-sealed around the window with mastic and just need to keep an eye on it.

As for the bathroom have just painted over the damp/mould, that occured for the time being to make it look aestetically better before the builder can actually find what the problem is. Also adjusted the fan so that it stays on for longer to try and reduce the amount of condensation.
