The wind is whipping and howling about my house tonight. I just heard a pot roll and smash - thought I had secured them all :/

Fence panels are down after just getting them back up after last storm :(

Would love to go to bed but the worst is yet to come in my region so I am up watching the posts on here and watching the weather news!

Stay safe inside, just been reading some weather forums and they are all staggered at how fast the barometric pressure is dropping.

My barometer is the lowest I have ever seen it.

Barometer here is 975 and falling. What is yours and your rough location? I am in Berkshire, Reading ish.

Wind gusts have been in excess of 50mph. The worst is due to hit here in about an hour I think.

Well I've been to bed and am back up again. Anybody who can sleep through this lot is tireder than I am! And we're not getting the worst until tomorrow. They're talking about hurricane force for the Western Isles.
  • Well woke up to a breezy dark morning, no structural damage and slept the night so must have stayed calmer than earlier in the day... Hailstone shower about an hour ago but other than that just breezy... not sure what the weather has in store for us today, but hope to be bringing my nana home from the hospital today after an elective op so hope little dolly the fiat 500 isn't blown about too much on the drive up. Stay safe everyone and have a Merry Christmas.;)

We got lashed with wind and rain here until early morning. All the trees were bent over. I must have woken up about 6 times, even with the new double glazing and blackout blinds on the bathroom window. It was coming at that side of the house.

Our bedroom is on the other side but it still woke me up, even though I take medication at night, to make me sleep. We have a large open field outside, so there's not much protection against the elements.

My son lives down the road and tiles have blown off their roof and smashed against the wall of the house next door and section of fencing have blown down as well, leaving their garden and that of the neighbour, exposed.

Thankfully, it's calm now. Looks like lots of damage and disruption all over the country. Hope that everyone on here is safe and well.

I hope everyone is keeping safe.

I just looked at the local news and there was some damage around my area, some windows were blown out and I can see in my street that fences have been blown down.

I feel sorry for people stuck traveling today.

Thankfully no damage here. A tree in the street below us came down and took the garden wall with it. We have had quite a bit of work done on the roof this last year and thankfully it's holding up well. The recycling boxes are in the garage.

There is another weather warning out for Friday, keep safe everyone.

Very windy here, poor son in law has been trying to locate where rain is blowing into the eaves, and causing water to come into their bedroom.
It's got to be because of the driving horizontal rain, they've never had a leak problem before. He's managed to block the area from inside the attic temporarily until after Xmas, and when the wind calms down.

Made my Red Onion Chutney this morning, 4 jars, have given 2 away, so we are having some tonight with the ham I've cooked in cherry coke.

Had a massive hail stone storm earlier, went from nothing to everywhere white in about 20 seconds!
10 minutes later it all melted.

It's about the 3rd day that kittie only ventures out for 5 mins and back to sleep on the throw in the lounge.

Happy Festivities all, and stay safe, hope everyone has got to their destinations tonight.

    xxxx
