I was desperate and although I did think at the time when they called me over a year ago now, that it was too good to be true, I still went ahead and paid them almost £4000.
It is important to be careful of cold call a the best of times but you now need to be especially careful. You are likely to have on a mugs list as an easy target. Do not act on any cold call or mailshot you get. If you want something you approach a genuine company. even if the cold call/mailshot is something you were thinking about.
I would suggest you write to the ministry of justice to complain about this company and give them your story. Provide a copy to your MP as well. There has been success with others writing to their MP. John Mann, MP called one a scam company and that one is no longer trading. The Govt are currently looking at claims companies and bringing in tighter regulation and fines. So, it is a hot potato for MPs.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). They are not allowed to take the money before the contract. You need to cancel first thing on monday morning. Like the advice already on this thread says to others, you need to complain to the ministry of justice and ideally to your MP as well. This company is scamming too many people and they only come to light when people write to those in charge.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Consumer Credit Services Limited surrendered its authorisation to the Claims Regulator in July 2012.
Phone your bank first thing tomorrow morning and ask that the transaction is reversed as it is fraudulent.
Also report it to ActionFraud.0 -

Read my previous thread about what I did to get my money back off them. Contact them by phone, e-mail and letter just to be sure and also contact your credit card about doing a "charge back", anyway, read my thread, it'll give you hope0 -
We have also been scammed by this company, how on earth can they get away with this? We paid £2072.00 in September cancelled the next day, they told us check was in the post never received it cannot get hold of them on the phone. Credit card company informed, and they have till the 4th of December to reply, will let you know what happens, maybe we all need to go to the company, demand all money back:(.0

A small correction there.0 -
So I just got called by these guys, went through the whole process until he asked for my credit card details to take the fee of £1967 or something pounds, plus the 10%, I forget exactly.
He was surprised when I refused, why would I not pay just under £2k so that they could further my claim of over £30,000!
He then spent the next 10 minutes sending me emails and asking me to click links on their website that 'prove' they're trustworthy - erm... yeah, OK.
Suffice to say they left the call without my details.
What I want to know though, is are they right about the actual claim being legit? Mine was for mortgage fees that the broker added when they suggested a mortgage for me 7 years ago. Something along the lines of the suggested mortgage netted them a higher fee and therefore was mis-sold. Sounds dodgy but thought I'd ask you lot just in case
Trev. Having an out-of-money experience!
C'MON! Let's get this debt sorted!!0 -
They are absolute scum. CCS-Review is run by the same people as those that ran CCS Review which went into receivership a few months ago. They swear blind that they are nothing to do with the earlier company in Swansea, but their websites are identical apart from the Poole address and phone number. Also they made the mistake of posting staff party photos on their CCS-Review facebook page which have since been removed. But the staff members were wearing CCS Review medals!! These are not the sort of people you want to carry out your financial review!
Apart from the people that initially contact you, many of them use assumed names. If you try to cancel your agreement with them, even if you've signed nothing they will do whatever they can to keep you on the hook.
Unfortunately I was also taken in by this company in November and am trying to get my money back. I have opened a dispute with my credit card company and suspect this is the only way to get your money back. I have got really angry with various members of this scam company to the extent they agreed to post me a cheque last week by first class recorded delivery. I'm still waiting for the cheque and the tracker number they supplied me with does not exist! I know they have done the same to other people.
I would suggest you open a dispute with your credit card company immediately. They will not honour their small print or the 14 day cooling off period. You will not get your money back from these people.
By all means ring them up and get angry with them, but do not be fooled by them. They are very plausible and clever.
Their initial contact with you will probably be to say they are calling about your overpayment on your (name of specific bank/building society) mortgage. If they have this information about you they have obtained it fraudulently but I suspect they are phishing. My mistake was to engage them in conversation to ask them how they got my personal banking information, to which they responded that I had filled out a questionnaire at the bank.
Do not let yourself be fooled by these scammers0
