I have no sympathy at all for the parking companies. This is because we have seen too many posts on here from people who are frightened to death and have suffered sleepless nights because of the threatograms issued by PPCs. Their whole business model is to frighten the poor motorist into paying up because they think they have received a proper parking ticket, instead of a meaningless bit of paper.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

I'd been plagued by calls at home from a company calling themselves 'Control Account PLC'. I emailed them asking them to make their intentions known or to b*gger off.

I'd like to have some fun with them but don't want to if it could leave me on a sticky wicket as it were.

    This is their response...

Ring them up, speak to Karen and tell her how busy you are, being a pheasant plucker and all that, see money's short and times are hard are hard, you didn't get a Christmas card being a pheasant plucker and all that - and anyway I wouldn't want to send one to such an ugly twit (misprint). For the land owners.

So you're justifying abusing land provided by the land owner because you don't like the management company? Erm.. okay..

Yup. It's a form of passive resistance, which has a long and honourable tradition. The landowner asked for such resistance when he allowed bandits and robbers onto his property to prey on his customers and visitors.

Spineless acquiescence also has a long tradition, but there's nothing honourable about it.

Abuse and have fun all you will, lets not try justify it though with arguments like 'we don't like their choice of management companies'.

I'll justify it however I like thanks very much, or indeed not at all if that suits me better.

    Good afternoon Karen,
Please find attached, nothing. I will pay as much as you would advise your own parents to pay to a fake PCN issuer...I am sure you know the score.

However, you really are harassing me, since you already know I have denied the alleged debt. I am not daft enough to pay just because your client has dressed up an invoice to impersonate a parking ticket.

How does your continued contact with someone who has clearly denied the alleged debt, fit within the OFT Debt Collection Guidelines, do you think?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

'I'd been plagued by calls at home from a company calling themselves 'Control Account PLC'. I emailed them asking them to make their intentions known or to b*gger off.'

instead of playing games with them why not just be upfront and tell them that they are harrassing me and report them etc......

Because playing with them is more fun. I'm not expecting any further calls and I've asked my other half to put my two-year old on the phone if they do. That will confuse them.

"Hi Karen, Sorry but there wasnt anything attached, can you please re-send"

Or, replace the attached with a blank document, an unopenable document and send it back stating so

Plenty of life in those, you should be able to stretch out the email chain a few times with those ;)
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
  • At the risk of de railing this thread again, There is the point that *some* landowners are as equally hoodwinked by the PPC's as ordinary members of the public, so they're not all willing accomplices.
