I am thinking of getting my soon to be 6yo dd a NDS lite or DSi or 3DS. Do you think she is too young? also she once got hold of mine and dropped it and the hinge snapped, is there any way of reinforcing the hinges so this does not happen again? like a case or something?
thanks xxx
No i don't think that 6 is too young, we bought DS1 a DSi when he was 5 and have recently bought DS2 who is 4 a DSi too, there are plenty of educational games out there. I would say go for that above the 3DS though as there are concerns with the 3D element with young children (according to Nintendo) so we decided against that model.
Had a bit of a nightmare week this week DS2 has had a horrid sickness bug (so haven't been to Mr A for a whole week :eek:) and to top it all off nicely he has lost his favourite little teddyit was a small seal toy that came with the adopt a seal packs that were reduced down to £1 in WHSmiths a few years ago and i can't find another one anywhere, have even contacted the manufacturers

My DD had a nintendo from about that age, you can get different styles of cases but to be honest I can't think of one that would protect the hinge.0 -

:T:T:j:jPlease help, fella was trying to change oil filter in my 2006 clio and touched the alternator with the tool. It sparked and so did the battery. Now the car is dead it will not start and even the lights will not turn on. Checked fuse all seem ok. We think the battery could be flat but we have charged it and still nothing not even a sound from the starter motor not sure if it is charging correctly. Any help would be good.Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

I'm sure she would love it! If you are worried about her dropping and breaking it, maybe you could consider taking out the insurance when you purchase it. I took it out for my DD as she can be accident prone, it was worth it as a few months ago hers broke and she was given a new one with no questions asked.0 -
Does anyone here own a food slicer? I've been thinking about getting one for a while, with the idea that I could boil my own hams etc then slice for sandwiches, getting more economical slices than I get with an ordinary knife. They seem to be available from about £35, does anyone have any thoughts or feedback? No, Mr A, that is NOT 'Great news'!!
Wombling totals: Oct = £243.32 - £93.32 over target!
Nov Wombling Tally: £27.36 so far... behind target0 -

Ours had ds's when they were 6 I believe. I also bought the screen protectors and case for them. Hardly ever dropped in all fairness and still going today, apart from a battery in one of them
