Mate of mine just came in. He's advertised his car in a couple of local rags and gumtree. A fellah emailed him last week saying he'd take his word for the description of the car and needed it for work and would send him a cheque.Value was going to be £900 for the car plus 20 quid the guy offered for taking his word by mail.
Bloke then emailed him a couple of days to see if the cheque had arrived. It arrived today. A bankers draft from an irish bank for £3000. It arrived by airmail from togolaise!!!
Apparently once the money is cleared my mate is to email him so he can organise for the car to be collected.
Sounds like a scam of some description to me but no idea what the angle would be here. Any ideas???
ive had this before - i advertised the backbox off an old car for £90 and recieved a cheque for £2500  the hardest part was trying to get the cheque out my mums hands, as we had the same initials think she was hoping the cheque was for her from a long lost relative :rotfl:after explaining to her and showing her emails from the buyer she was then on the phone to the police and bank lol i wouldnt say any of which was bothered though they just said not to cash itTake care of the pence and the pounds will take care of themselvesSealed Pot Challenge No.1902 - Target £250 :cool2:0 -

I am thinking of getting my soon to be 6yo dd a NDS lite or DSi or 3DS. Do you think she is too young? also she once got hold of mine and dropped it and the hinge snapped, is there any way of reinforcing the hinges so this does not happen again? like a case or something?

Just interested as this senario will happen to me sooner rather than later. Best to PM if there's a solution. Thanks.
Use a phone app if you have access to one, it avoids the need for any email or address details to be inputted at all.

a lot of people think that bankers drafts are as good as cash, they are not, they will clear initially but they will then "bounce" and it can be upto 28 days later, the only way your friend can be sureof the cash is to bring it to the bank that issued it (name of bank as oppossed to branch) explain the situation and ask them to cash it with no comeback to them, that is the only way, alternatively he could say to the buyer that he will have to wait 60 days for the draft to clear before the car is releasedIt's the thought that counts.......I think a lot!0 -
Does anyone know if the vitamin glitch is still working? I went to buy some today, but my local A has stopped selling the effervescent vit c:eek: and I couldn't get a reliable signal to check online what else would work (so bought more Aussie instead
).
They have completely revamped the non-food grocery bit of the store (health, toiletries, cleaning, baby aisles) and I was a bit lost. I also saw lots of staff milling around changing prices and moving products around. Wonder what's up?
It's only a game

I think it depends on the ability of the child. Some can use them at that age and some can't.
Have you looked at the inno tabs? My daughter has the older one out and IMO they are brilliant. You need rechargeable batteries though as they eat them.N1LDA0 -
