  • Please help, fella was trying to change oil filter in my 2006 clio and touched the alternator with the tool. It sparked and so did the battery. Now the car is dead it will not start and even the lights will not turn on. Checked fuse all seem ok. We think the battery could be flat but we have charged it and still nothing not even a sound from the starter motor not sure if it is charging correctly. Any help would be good.

Probably better in the motoring forum, but are you sure you have checked ALL the main fuses??

I cashed in an £18 APG at B3dm1ns3r today. It was accepted without comment or fuss.
Were you aware of a lot of activity on the shop floor?

My DD's Clio had a flat battery, we tried jump starting and it still would not start. Apparently it puts codes into the computer that have to be cleared by a mechanic. Please beware I am not car savvy and am only going on what our mechanic said. Anyway he changed the battery and cleared everything and it was OK.
