Went for my last of 4 back massages today, that was this months half price treament, looking forward to seeing whats on offer in October in my local spa.
Had the thread vein in my nose zapped today, need to go again in 6 weeks.
Talked to her about my veins in legs, they have a Doctor that does consoltations once a month and he should be able to zap them with a bigger laser so I have booked to see him.
Off out tonight, feeling fab with myself.
Have a fab weekend everyone.0 -
Hello All,
Quick nip on here whilst on lunch break, got a lovely headache today I tried to fab got make up & perfume on and a bright stripy cardigan! Won't be fabbing much tomorrow off too a wetland centre with the Brownies, going to be about 700 kids in total! I must be crazy, only so glamorous you can look in wellies and waterproof, the hair and make up will be done though!
Hopefully I'll get 5min this afternoon to finally finish my list of goals.

You can't afford it....
As I mentioned earlier I am shortly to receive a legacy. This is down to the generousity and love of my husband's father.
I have felt rather guilty about accepting this because it will be quite substantial.
My SIL said- "Don't be silly - Dad can afford it and he wants to help secure yours and my brother's financial future. He is well aware of the financial hardships you've suffered and the sacrifices you have endured. He wants to see you right."
Well I did some number crunching - including OH and mine loss of earnings, firesale prices of disposing of assets, equipment, special foods, medical supplies, additional laundry and heating costs, adaptations to our home, various aids, hospital and nursing home expenes, and on and on ......
I reckon - over the last 6 years - at a very conservative estimate we are looking at a figure of approx
£670,000
At least.
I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that.
Needless to say the legacy I shall receive, although very generous, is nowhere near that.
Oddly enough I no longer feel guilty.0 -
LL - its not as is you're going to fritter the money - its for well needed care for your husband and yourself, not facelifts and foreign jaunts! Accept it and use it for what it was intended, if it makes life easier it can only be a good thing. It would also not just make the physical things easier but would also ease the stress and worries for both you and the OH, in your situation every bit of help should be grabbed with both hands.
(sorry if that sounded harsh but you know what I mean xx)
Had a long day again, feet are killing me.
And to add insult to injury I have to work tomorrow (for free) at open morning and do experiments with year 6s. Oh, the joy of it all!
On the positive side have been asked today to join a "middle leadership" initiative - my direct boss has intimated I'm being groomed for promotion - not going to turn that down!
Am currently debating with myself about whether to have a takeaway or not - this week has been a killer and I feel like I need a little treat, and the not cooking would be a bonus too. Will wrestle with my diet conscience for another half hour or so and then probably give in:rotfl:Might even have a glass of wine from the bottle thats been in the fridge for the past 3 months:eek: (before the diet it would have been lucky to last 3 hours:rotfl:)
For anyone looking for something new to read try Jo Nesbo, a Norwegian crime writer. Currently reading The Leopard and will defintely be ordering more of his books from the library. They are unputdownable and very good reads. Never heard of him before and picked one up at the library in a rush, glad I did.0 -
Hi all, 2nd day in a row, not done that for a while.
Had my x-ray today, now have to wait a week before I get the results.
Feeling a tad used today and its making me cross, I was asked by my dd's friends mum if the friend could come back after school for a few weeks until she could drive again after an op, I of course said yes so nearly 4 weeks down the line, I get told by the child that she won't be coming back on Monday. No thanks from the mum, nothing. Now I wasn't expecting any grand gestures but a thank you would've been nice. Had to check I did'nt have mug written on my forehead!!!
Any way I must move on from it or I'll start getting resentful, I just know if I get asked again I shall say no.
I have been spinning tonight and I think cos I was cross I worked a bit harder can already feel it in my legs, gonna ache tomorrow.
Take care xxChiari Brain Malformation - decompression survivor

I'm back at home now after we gave up this week due to the weather. All home safe and sound now. A lovely week away though despite the dreadful weather.
Have now been meal planning for the week ahead - aiming to stay on track with my set grocery budget for Oct of £100. Meal planned for this weekend to use up some stuff out of the freezer and some free veggies too. Will be seeing how this goes for tomorrow's shopping trip.

Don't tempt me.....:rotfl::rotfl: I wish.
Well I know I've said this before and yes I've fallen by the wayside soooo many times but hey I'm the eternal optimist and so today it begins again.
I have just weighed myself - hangs head in shame.:o
Never mind, here we go again.
So I'm going to give myself a face mask, defuzz, tidy eyebrows and a good slathering.
Then an inventory of freezers, fridge etc and then menu plan.
Today both the actual diet and the money diet start again. Let's see if we can raise that phoenix from the ashes....
Yesterday treated myself to some black denim jeans, chazza shop £4. Today will call into farm shop for some eggs and a bit of "winter colour" for the front garden - much cheaper than the garden centre. OK not as much choice but good enough.
Sun shining here and things are starting to look good. House now officially on the market.
Just need to get the house particulars tweaked. Why do most EA's have such a weak grasp of the English Language:rotfl: Perhaps I'm just a bit OCD.
Have a great weekend everyone.

No wonder you feel aggrieved. What ingratitude. (Although to be fair there is time yet for her to express her gratitude - maybe you will see her at the school gates next week and she will say thank you then).
However, I do agree with you - she should have taken the time to at least ring you and tell you herself. I would have gone further and bought you some flowers....:D
In a situation like that I always take the moral high ground. I think to myself "Rise above it". Be gracious, it's not her fault - she cannot help being a rude, ignorant and ill mannered oik.
Those of us who are fabulous know better than to behave in such a discourteous and ungracious way.0 -
Just a quick post. I had the mammogram results and all is ok. Thought it was very quick wasn't expecting to hear for at least a week.
Have treated myself to a new pair of jeans.
WW will look the author out - love crime books. Atm though I'm reading about a dog who is trained to look after his owner - a war veteran, and also a training book for reactive dogs. Am trying to stop my own dog feeling scared and feeling the need to scare off other dogs by being snappy. Am hoping this will also be helpfull in the longrun if I go for it and start a business around dogs.
LL- how lovely of your FIL to give you the legacy, don't feel guilty I'm sure he wouldn't want you to.
enjoy your day all.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Well, a half day at work doing on open day for the year 6s and their parents to see what big school is all about. Lots of bangs, smells and flames in the chemistry lab to impress them - hope they don't think it will be like that every lesson!
Then home for some quick lunch and onto the very muddy park for a blow the cobwebs away walk with the dog. We then popped to Pets at Home and got a pac-a-mac for the poocher - reduced to £3! Its a very natty purple number and will keep him dry in this flipping horrible weather:mad: Fabbing the dog!
B&M and Aldi was next, then home for a sit down for half an hour before starting the cleaning.....am shattered and still have loads to do.
I did a very frugal shop this week so hopefully will have enough to last the week, I have meal planned and so it should be ok.
A little bit of good news - I have lost another 1lb:j Up to 22 lbs now, 4 to go.
I noticed this morning that my roots are starting to show again so the dreaded hair dyeing job is due - had it done at the hairdressers last time but I'm trying economise this month and have to go away next weekend so it will be a home job this time using a box of colour that I already have in.
Right, there are lots of muddy paw marks in the hall and the whole house needs hoovering and dusting so deep breath and hoover out......0
