morning all-hope your weekends were good?
i treated myself to eye lash extensions and am getting used to them-but they are very noticable so might go a bit shorter when i get my infills-this is something id like to continue as i look so washed out and tired without some mascara on.
Feeling low this weekend, so we also treated ourselves to a chinese and i have just polished off a pack of foxes extreamly chocolaty biscuits....but these things ultimately arent a treat, as they are sticking to my stomach and making me feel worse about myself-keep meaning to continue to exercise and sort out diet but i ultimately keep going back to junk0 -
... Need to really find some kind of routine now im in my 40s. Does everyone cleanse, tone and moisturise every day even if you havent had makeup on?
I tend to follow the following "routine":
Morning - wash with Boots No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser & muslin cloth, followed by No7 serum & No7 day cream with SPF
Evening - Wipe with a No7 face wipe (tends to be a few if have had make-up on!), followed by No7 night cream
This suits my skin and seems to be keeping the fine lines at bay too0 -
Thanks for the good wishes, Podperson - am actually feeling loads better, but now very tired after getting sucked into watching the end of the golf last night. Very bizarre as I don't play....
Loving the Magic Monday idea - mine will be a Flake that fell into my basket in the local corner shop this morning
Have promised myself that I will sort out my wardrobe tonight - DH is away so I can leave stuff out if necessaryHave charity bags at the ready plus a long mirror for appraisal of outfits for varying occasions. Must remember that I already have clothes for wear on the allotment only and don't need any more!
Goals for this week:
1. rediscover kitchen after yesterday's Christmas cake, pudding & chutney cooking session!
2. sort wardrobe
3. endeavour to wear some makeup every day - even if only eyeliner & lip balm
4. spend some time beautifying my feet before they get hidden away for winter
5. tidy my dressing table top - it looks a complete mess!
6. sort out make-up, beauty & toiletries stash
I think that's enough for me!0 -
Went to London this weekend, and today I feel really jaded and knackered. The first lot of long walking I have done in 5 years and with the help of all my medication, and extra, I did it. But yesterday and today I am limited in my movement and I cannot keep taking extra medicines.
I am off now to have a soak in the bath, defuzz if I can move!
Wore jeans over the weekend which was not that fab at all. Feel really scruffy when I wear my jeans now!.
I have had to take off my nail polish as it was getting really chipped and looked terrible. I knew there was a reason that I dont wear it much! Oh well. I have some paler stuff I will put on later if I can.
Happy fabbing people. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Sorry just a quick pit stop, not much fabbing. Currently feeling fat and the size of a whale
done some decluttering of toys, need to make some headway into the kitchen, need to clear off the tops of the cupboards, inside the cupboards etc and then get cracking with the paint and the paintbrush I bought this morning.
Hope you're all having a reasonable MondayI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
claire - I TRY to cleanse and moisturise every day - doesn't always happen
I don't bother with toner, there are very mixed reviews on whether it's actually 'needed' or not and I've never seen much difference from using it.
Bitsy - I'm feeling that way too this week, need to get myself in gear. Lacking in motivation at the moment0 -
Hi everyone,
Joining a little late, but discovered this thread just as I started my own quest to become a better version of myself! (I'm in here somewhere!)
All your goals sound very similar to what I'm trying to achieve so I'm in and hope we can all help each other along. You are all doing so well so far!
My quest:
1.) Do the ICMYT Paul McKenna programme
- I've ordered Paul McKenna's ICMYT, as I'm tired of dieting and want to sort out my relationship with food. I need to break the constant cycle of either dieting like a crazy person, or not being on a diet and eating everything. I don't want to set any weight loss targets by certain dates because it makes me freak out and eat more! I want to get healthy and stop obsessing. I need to forget the WW points values and just see food as food for once, instead of being 'good' or 'bad'.
2.) Couch to 10k (I did this last year, but now woefully unfit again and need to get back into it).
3.) Try new recipes! I enjoy cooking and need to experiment more.
4.) Write every day and finish what I start (I love writing but find it difficult to finish projects)
5.) Try the Oil Cleansing Method for my face
6.) Make an effort to look nice - make up, clothes, accessories, perfume. I've just sorted out my wardrobe and taken out themratty or ill fitting clothes so everything in my wardrobe is something I can wear!! :j
7.) Gradually build up my wardrobe - I made a list of all the situations I need clothes for (e.g. work, parties, etc.) and made a list of the clothes I need that I don't have. Rather than buying clothes on impulse, I am seeing what clothes I actually need for my life!
8.) Don't spend entire days in my PJs!Getting dressed makes me get more done and feel better about myself. And it will stop me embarrassing the postman.
9.) Get a new job. My job is affecting my whole life and I just need to get out pronto!
10.) Make more of an effort with social engagements, etc. and stop being such a hermit! Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!0 -
Hi Cherry - welcome aboard.
Great list of goals.
I think the new recipe idea is great. I'll pinch that one if I may.:D0 -
Jusy a quick update, DS has not done any major damage, just badly sprained and no exercise for 6-8 weeks eekk, he's gonna drive me mad with all his extra energy. He seems to be walking about ok, he is dosed up on ibrofen.
Fingers crossed he'll be ok for the hol.

Evening all!
Magic Monday.......hmmmm...doesn't feel very magic so I'll have to make it magic. A long day and I'm very tired and hormonal, gave in and had 3 mini choc bars today from the leftovers at work - that will have to be my treat, I can't have another one!
Just about to take the dog out for walk no 3 before it gets dark, maybe a bit more fresh air and a nice soak in the bath will magic me up?0
