  • Evening all, forced myself to fitball then leftover takeaway for tea.
Ww - i'm feeling hormonal too, angry & annoyed at everything, bloated and craving anything sweet! Shower, pjs and a quiet evening for me.

    Eh xx

Hmm certainly not a Magic Monday at work today!

Anyway certainly much more magic at home after a long evening dog walk and then a ripped in 30 session day 4 level 4 - 3 more to go now!

As for cleansing - I cleanse in the morning with my facial wash, then tone and moisturise and evening do a double cleanse to remove all make up then the same tone and moisturise and always an eye cream both times after toning. Works nicely for me and I'm close to my forties now.

Made a decision for the outfit for the saturday night out - hoping it looks pretty amazingly good!

Just watching Nigella eat an ice cream sandwich - weird!

Me too! Have been ready to kill all day! I'm not normally that bad - seems like my hormones have all ganged up on me.

Ooh what did you choose?? Shoe boots and....:D

Feeling much better today as I anticipated, just left with a bit of sneezing and tiredness now but all other symptoms gone.

I'm another that doesn't bother with toning. I just use a facewash, unless I've been wearing one of my more persistent mascaras then I have an eye make up remover for that. Then I use moisturiser (currently Aldi;)) and always eye cream. In the morning, I often just hold a hot cloth on my face and then moisturise as usual.

I have got a primer and it seems to camouflage enlarged pores.

I wore a 'new' pair of trousers today (CS) and got compliments. They're smart, black Next ones with a side zip and no waistband IYSWIM. DH very complimentary about how they show off my waist etc then a friend complimented me on how well I'd maintained my weightloss (I'm sure it was the slimming effect of the trousers prompted her comments).

On the dyeing hair discussion: I'm very fortunate to have almost no grey but I do have mine highlighted from it's usual mousey brown. I had it done on Friday with some extra caramel bits in as it'd got very white blonde as I'd been using the highlighter spray to keep going to appointment. Very pleased with the cut and colour, wish I could afford a professional blow dry every week. Oh how I envy slebs! (only for that though;)).

    Good morning all

Maman - which primer do you use - I might have a stab at some.

I agree side zip trousers are the most flattering - they help slim the tummy. Just a pity that a centre zip seems to be the norm.

Glad to hear you feel better, was going to say "more like your old self" but thought better of it:rotfl:

I'm going to try and use the power of NLP to boost my chances of staying mentally young and alert. Gotta keep those "senior moments" at bay...

I am going to try and discipline myself and avoid words and phrases that have negative connotations - so out with words like old, tired, ill etc.

Wonder if it will work and if I will feel re-juvinated. Worth a try.

Have been awake since 5-00 again. lots of thoughts whirling around and can't seem to switch off.

Am thinking of switching OH to a different nursing home - so have that swirling around now. So many decisions to make. At least mum & dad seem ok.

They still refuse to move into Sheltered Accommodation but Dad has come up with the idea of reinstating their downstairs loo. Originally the house had an outside loo. Many years ago dad revamped the old outside loo and coal shed bringing them into the house as utility room and adding a conservatory.

He has had a quote from a contractor, nominated by the local council, who are supposed to offer fair rates to pensioners.

Luckily Dad had the good sense to show me the quote and ask my advice. The price was outrageous. Needless to say I will get my own lovely plumber on the case.

It makes me so angry when I hear of elderly pensioners and vulnerable people being ripped off like this.

Just another task to add to my evergrowing list....

Have a great day - Terrific Tuesday anyone??

What can we do to make today more terrific. I'll have to dream something up and get back to you:rotfl:

Hope some of you managed a bit of Monday Magic.

I found quite a bit of greenery and a couple of last stray flowers so have filled a couple of vases for free. Very frugal house fabbing.

I have a purply bronzed leaved shrub which loses it's leaves in the late Autumn. I chopped that back and instead of chucking the stems in the bin I've shoved them in a tall vase. They look nice - quite the expensive designer look without the price tag:rotfl:

    Morning all,

Cherry - welcome, great list of goals, good luck with them x

Hewie - glad DS doesn't seem to have done anything too serious, hopefully will be ok for your hols :)

maman - yay on the compliments, always give a bit a boost :)

LL - let us know how you get on with the NLP, I do think there's a lot in it. Glad your dad is at least realising that some changes need to be made.

Well, am back on the fabbing wagon, did a deep condition on my hair last night, made sure I did my hot cloth cleanser and moisturiser, trimmed and filed my nails (ran out of time for painting, will try and do them tonight) plus back on the cal counting and just about in my limit for yesterday. Also signed up for two group walks, one tomorrow night after work and one on Sunday - which will keep me busy when OH is away. Have asked for a lift to the one on Sun so I definately can't back out now :o Got a bit of writing done last night - have taken one of my stories right back to near the start as it wasn't really working, bit scary cutting out about 5k words but I think it's flowing a lot better now. Choir tonight so probably won't get a lot else done.
Hope everyone has a good day x
  • Morning everyone!

Must look into side zipped trousers! I only wear skirts (more flattering on me and easier to wear + I don't iron EVER).

I've only used my MAC primer twice since I did my wedding make up a few years ago. Must give it another try. What I find really works on pores are those nose strips you can buy from pound shops.

Fedupandskint - what is ripped in 30? It sounds like really hardcore/insane exercise!! Well done for nearly finishing it.

podperson - it hurts to cut words out of stories, but will be much less irritating in the long run! I must do some writing today.

I have a day off today so my plan is:

1.) Go for a run (and ignore OH running off into the distance whilst I'm stopping to catch my breath every 3 seconds)
2.) Dye my hair, put on some perfume & top to toe moisturise
3.) Epilating day 2  (I only did the bottom of my legs yesterday because the pain freaked me out)
4.) Teeth whitening (I got this stuff from America on holiday)
5.) Nose strips to minimise pores
6.) Cook something healthy for tea and do some writing :D
Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!

Started the 30 day shred but didnt realise i needed the hand weights so will get them tomorrow...probably a good thing to do my first day without them. Nice shower after and sorted out my face, im trying bio oil on my hips now to see if my celulite / stretch marks improve, they arent too bad but every bit helps.

Yesterday I cleared out DD age 9 wardrobe and took stuff to charity shop so all the new stuff I got last winter in the sale will fit her this year.

The salon I have just started using does an offer each month, hence all the back massages i had in Sept, octobers offer is half prime dermatolical facials so think I will give it a go.

Strike Terrific Tuesday - Toady is officially Terrible Tuesday - at lease for me:(

Sorry but I have to do this, I have to write to let it all out.

I can't stop crying. I sobbed my way all round Sainsbugs - I must have looked like some wild creature.

No amount of NLP is going to help me today. No amount of positive thinking can deny the fact that OGH is going rapidly downhill again. Over the last few days he has taken another nose dive.

Today Matron broached the subject of fitting OH with a catheter. I've known this was on the cards for some time but it is still such a shock to have it official - Your husband is incontinent.

His poor body is just shutting down. He can hardly sit unsupported, he can't roll over in his sleep, he has to be turned. He is as helpless as any newborn babe.

What's worse - I cannot fool myself any longer - there are now some very obvious signs of marked mental deterioration.

His mega brain is beginning to die.

I always encourage him to do puzzles and quizzes with me and I have been very shocked this last couple of weeks by the way his cognitative abilities are affected.

How long before I lose hlm, before he disappears into the twilight world of dementia. His speech is almost unintelligible, his hearing is on the way out, his eyesight is fading - it's truly the most awful thing to witness.

If he wore an animal his suffering would have been over by now....
He would have been gently helped out of his misery.

I am so so scared of what is to come.....

I am so sorry to pour my heart out like this - I just need to let it out.

Please, please God - let him die soon.
