Welcome Happy Crafter - nice to have you aboard. Good plan and goals.

PP - Oh dear your boss sounds awful - so unreasonable. I'm sure you'll achieve your goal to break free one day. Enjoy your weekend "Home Alone" - sounds like a bit of quiet "you" time will do you good.

I had a lovely time with my friend today - we spent 5 hours just chatting and catching up. She is as much of a chatter box as I am - we can both talk for England.:D It really did me good today.

My next door neighbour works at Dunhelm and has given me a 25% off voucher. I shall have to go and see what I can find....

All this talk of hair .....it's time I did something with mine too.

    Anyway Fab Friday tomorrow.

    Don't forget.;)

    Bad day

Ambulance came last night for my Gran, funny turn due to her Alzheimers, got home at 3am back down hospital at 8am, drove and found a nice care home for a weeks respite , home 5 pm.so will pick her up from hospital tomorrow morning and take her there. then try and get the care at home pushed up to more hours. Tired and stressed, shes not going to want to go to care home but I cant let her go home with only 30 minute visit in a day as things are now.

Paul mckenna went out the window, no tea last night, no breakfast this morning and had to resort to a packet of crisps and a crap sandwich and bar of chocolate all day in hospital.

So sorry to hear about your Gran. 30 min care is obviously nowhere near enough.

My elderly neighbour has alzheimers and so far still lives at
home with carers going in 2 to 3 times a day. He goes to a day
centre several days a week. Would this be suitable for your gran.

I hope you manage to get it sorted. Do you have anyone to help you - it's a lot for one person to deal with.

I don't know how that emoticon appeared at the top and I don't know how to get rid of it. Sorry about that.

    Morning everyone :D

Dog has been walked, it's not much fun in pitch black though. Good job I walk with my dad or I would have to leave it til after the school run.
Anyway no fabbing :o I am just not drinking enough water.....in fact any liquids :o so I am going to get a handle on this as I suspect it's just making daily life twice as hard. As a consequence for my serious lack of fluids I had muzzy head last night and have headache this morning.
Not much house fabbing today either. H needs a second car, pronto so were going to look at some today. He used to commute on his motorbike (125cc) but that's not going to be suitable for the distance he's doing nor is it going to be any good for coming home weekends. I forsee an expensive few months ahead!

    Enough of my waffle :o

    Happy crafter welcome :D

Claire so sorry to hear about your gran, 30 mins is no where near enough

Pod hugs for you and a poke in the eye for your grotty boss :(

WW well done on your compliments :)

Sparkles what are you going to do after ripped?

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

    Morning all,

ww - yay on the compliments, nice how people are noticing the 'new you' :D don't work too hard this weekend x

happycrafter - welcome! some great goals there so good luck with them

LL - glad you had a nice day :) I shouldn't be let loose in Dunhelm, I tend to get carried away :rotfl:Mind you last time I went I got some material for voile blinds and I still haven't got round to making them up :o Need OH to give me a hand with the rails up first I think and then I can see how to hang them best. I'm a fairly useless sewer but should be able to manage them at least.

claire21 - sorry about your Gran, hope she's ok x Am having a similar situation at the moment, my gran went into a home last week, on the surface for 'respite care' but tbh I think it's doubtful she'll be able to come home now. She was actually getting some home care but she seems to have gone downhill really rapidly in the last few weeks, they bumped her up from 2 care visits a day to 4, plus my aunt and my mum and dad were also going up several times a day and she still wasn't coping. She'd be ringing them at 3am saying she didn't want to be in the house on her own and things. My mum and dad are going on holiday tomorrow so she agreed to go in while they were away, but it's upsetting as she keeps saying things about expecting to go home when they're back, and I really don't see how she'll cope. Anyway, sorry to slightly divert from your problems there, sending you good wishes x

Bitsy - hope you have some luck on the car front, I tend to fill a bottle with water (or pop if I'm having a frazzled day :o) and have it close by all day - so on my desk at work, beside me when I'm watching tv etc. If I can see it I'm more likely to drink and then it just becomes habit. Love the poke in the eye for me boss - don't tempt me this week :rotfl:

Anyway, slightly less stressy at work yesterday, just need to get through today and it's weekend :D Plus have Tues/Wed off next week for my birthday so breaks the week up a bit - mind you am in on my own for the rest of the week! Had a nice night with OH last night, was still asleep when I left this morning so that's me not seeing him until Monday now - will be a bit strange. Still, probably give me chance to get caught up on some stuff. I'm fine during the day but I don't really like being in the house on my own at night :o

    Hi ladies, happy Fab Friday!

I'm not doing very well with my challenges this week, but I did put my smart jeans & some make-up on for the footie last night. It was being televised, and you never know where those pesky cameras may look!

I've fabbed up for Friday with a grey/black jersey s/sleeve shift dress and royal blue cardigan over, black opaques, patent lace-up heeled brogues, narrow patent belt and a blue iridescent beaded necklace :D My hair should have been washed this morning, but I've pulled it into a pony-tail & fastened it with one black band & one blue band twisted together.

Walking to a local beer festival tomorrow that's about 8 miles away, then shopping & allotment on Sunday. DH goes to Porto for 3 days on Monday, so a few days of solitude in the evenings :)

    Have a great weekend everyone
    Floss x
  • Hello all,

Not much to add this week, felt like I've lost my mojo, not done much except stuff my face and have horrible headaches. On a positive note it's nearly home time and weekend will be begin and I am off to blood donors after work that's my good deed for the day. :)

Claire - I hope you've got things sorted now? My gran went down a very similar route some years ago - its so worrying I know. Hope things work out as well as they can for you and your family.

    Morning everyone :D

Dog has been walked, it's not much fun in pitch black though. Good job I walk with my dad or I would have to leave it til after the school run.

Urrghh! I know - 6am walks are now in the dark and usually in the rain. I only walk him around the streets where I live in the morning so brave it alone but its not a pleasant experience.:(

At last its Friday! What another long week! I'm off to Wales for the weekend but have decided to go at 6am tomorrow rather than sit on the M6 carpark for hours tonight. Another early start.... Can't say I'll be very fab in the morning!

Have to do all of the household things tonight - cleaning, washing etc as I won't be around to do the chores. Will get stuck in after tea.

The work Xmas party was announced today - its on Dec 14th and quite close to home for me so I'm going. Just need to lose those pesky last few lbs and buy a killer frock to show off my thinner self:rotfl: Its a good incentive as this week's weigh in shows I've stayed the same weight, the first time I haven't lost anything since I started the diet. All my own fault though - too many treats this week and not enough sweaty exercise - dog walking doesn't seem to count anymore...
Will be working hard cleaning gran's old house tomorrow so hopefully that will count and burn some extra cals.

Right, need to get some tea started before I start on the biscuits....

Sparkles what are you going to do after ripped?

Planning on No More Trouble Zones and 6 Week 6 Pack I think - last day of Ripped tomorrow

Well a rather fab day as I dressed up to go shopping in my bargain rusty red long skirt, grey ankle boots, cream top and rusty red, cream and black cardie jacket. Popped some eyeliner on for a change too

Mum was very generous today with my birthday present and bought me plenty including some rather fab boots which I wanted. I collected the sale shoes and deffo one pair are no good as are very uncomfy indeed so they're going back tomorrow and I think the other pair my be going back too - will see how they look first before I decide. I bought myself a new mac in the sale which is washable and water resistant in a mid blue. Just the thing I wanted too for spring and autumn - had a tenner off in the sale and used some birthday money which made it a rather bargain price of £29 too :D. We walked round the expensive dept stores laughing at the prices things cost in there and how you don't need to spend that much to look good - just for the labels hey to drag you into the dream that they will make you look divine - not needed at all in any respect. I'm so used to sale shopping from this year it was hard to look at things full price without thinking 'not worth it' and 'as if!'. Anyway also got 2 sale tops which will look great with jeans, my lovely skirt and also summer trousers. Both are a kind of kingfisher blue colour and were good prices at £11 and £17.

Haven't really been round a big shopping centre for quite a while after made a decision to stay out of them and I didn't want to spend my leisure time in there anymore - forgot how tiring it is walking around an airless atmosphere for a few hours. Well that itch has been scratched and no need to spend that long in there again any time soon!

Will be spending some time prefabbing for tomorrow's night out later on and off to make a curry for tea before I eat some more chocolate birthday cake!
